Beer was really good. Food and wait time for that food needs a lot of improvement. Started out with the nachos. They are fresh and tasty, but for the price, they lack toppings. We maybe had 1/4c of black beans on the entire nacho platter and just a drizzle of cheese. We then placed our food order. My wife ordered a Reuben and I ordered the LBC burger. It was not very busy and we probably waited an hour or more for our food. When the food finally came, the Rueben was very good but it's not $15 good. I've been to NYC multiple times and these are NYC prices for sandwiches, which I don't mind paying if the food is quality. The LBC burger was okay but the problem is the quality of beef they are using. You'd think you would want to use only the best ingredients just as you would for the beer you make. The ground beef they are using has a lot of gristle in it. They need to use a higher quality beef from their distributor or use local farm raised since people come here for "local." LBC on the East side was very good. This location...not so much. I think it's the step child. I don't want to leave this review but I was pretty disappointed in this location after spending $70. Our server apologized repeatedly for slow service but I still had a full bill after buying food and paying $3.00 for each 5oz taster, no flights offered. You could of at least comped one of the 5oz I bought. I'm fairly certain I will not come back to...
Read moreYou know when you're at a concert and there is an extended period of dissonance and do you note the relief you feel when the chord resolves? Goosebumps crawl up your legs and arms leaving you unable to speak for fear of sobbing openly while the hipster women stare impassively?
LBC West is the restraunt version of that feeling. It's in a strip mall. It's near a police outpost. It's in the north west side of a building representing the worst suburbia has to offer.
But then you sit down. Someone nice, and knowledgeable offers a tasty cold beverage their colleagues crafted from yeast barley hops and water. You order a burger, maybe a salad with pecans, maybe one with strawberries, or perhaps some waffle fries with some pimento cheese. You might try another beverage...or some water. The check is paid and your realize that the evening resolved into something quite lovely.
While goosebumps may not arrive, you will have had a nice meal, a nice server, and an all around...
Read moreWe showed up about 2:40. It was myself my husband and our 4 year old daughter. We took our time looking at the menu and finally ordered all at once after realizing one Reuben was 15 dollars we decided to go ahead and try it. Fast forward to 4:00pm. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger and fruit and hadn’t received a single thing. We watched it go from practically empty to damn busy and NEVER saw a scrap of food come out of that kitchen for ANY table. My husband got one refill on his lemonade…they couldn’t even remember my daughters straw!? This is a joke as someone who has worked in the food industry a very long time I would be FIRED if I ran a restaurant like that. But man did they get the alcohol out! All of you need to retrain. We just straight up left to go somewhere else after an hour and a half. That was terrible. If I could I’d...
