A very dear friend lets me know via photos and text he has eaten at this place. The photos are highly interesting, and he states the food is the best he's had in larryville. Ok, challenge accepted! I grab bff and off we go! It's located in the strip mall on the east side of kasold right past Bob billings. We get rock star parking right up front! Ok, wow, the place is super small. Seriously, we walk in and from the door to the counter it's maybe 10 feet? The size may be small but the atmosphere and service is humongous. We are greeted immediately and seated. Chips and salsa arrive. Chips are ok, not alot of corn taste. The salsa is drink worthy (I've been known to drink salsa like it's water), a little fire with some lime/cilantro taste. Armando is our server and he is an absolute delight. We order a house margarita and for $5.00 it's plentiful and packs a punch. If this came out of a machine, well, there's definitely a very healthy amount of tequila. 🥴 the small guacamole is also very healthy. It's chunky how I like it and semi creamy. Lots of avocado flavor with a lime aftertaste. Delicious! Plus it's 3.50!!!! I decide I need more fire so I sound the hot salsa siren and Armando brings it. Oh man, I've had hot salsa that mimicks steam out of my ears but this makes me tear up and my face and throat flush. EXCELLENT. Bff loves it too and we're both punchy from our over medicated margarita. 🤣 the queso that covers my bean burrito is a spicy cilantro one. Best I've had and the beans are super mashed. Bffs tostado is fried first then topped with beef, cheese, lettuce and tomato. She ate it super fast. Seriously, it was like watching a hoover vacuum cleaner in action. I shouldn't say anything as I'm sure I did exactly the same except i looked like my food was on a conveyor belt into my mouth. We're definitely coming back and I'll step out of my comfort zone and order something different. While lulu's is "fun-size" nothing else is! Food, service and drinks are BIG. I'll check the bathrooms and a new entree next time and...
Read moreI've been here twice now, both times Maria was very welcoming, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. The food was wonderful and served quickly. Maria made the second visit even better than the first by remembering me and the promise she made during my first visit when an item I ordered was out of stock. She made good on her promise. Maria and the rest of the folks at Lulu's can be assured that I will be back!
Now, to explain the slight knock on the atmosphere, it was not because of anything the restaurant did but only because their space is so small that there is room for only six tables. That tends to make things more cramped than in most other restaurants but that is so minor by comparison to everything else that it does not detract from my overall 5-star rating. I bring it up only so that others are aware before getting there. I would advise getting in touch with the restaurant to have them reserve a table if you intend to go during a...
Read moreI love the food here (I order the same item each time because it's that good) and the service is pleasant. I would visit more often, however my family is not impressed by the food. Each time they order food they end up getting the wrong items they ordered.
For example a Burrito: One was ordered by my family and asked for guac, sour cream, and fajita veggies to be included inside. The Burrito they received included none of the above items they asked for. The food inside the burrito was piled in clumps of areas, so cheese all in one clump, meat all in one clump, etc. The meat was over-salted. The "fajita veggies" was only onions.
Another time my family ordered shrimp fajitas that still include the tails on the shrimp. And a separate time they ordered the "tower" dish that included barely any meat and was mainly cheese.
I do love this place and want to see it succeed, but I'm afraid we won't be coming here as often because the food is...
