The food is not good. I have tried it several times because there isnât a lot in town, but disappointed again. I came at lunch and ordered the burrito supreme lunch special, and my friend had the 3 street tacos. Our food came within 5 minutes, which some might appreciate, but I have come to recognize as pre-prepared food that is slapped together and re-heated, and I wasnât wrong. My friends steak tacos had absolutely no seasoning on the steak at all, the steak was chopped into tiny little bits and it was completely dry, so basically it was prepared way ahead of time and just reheated for our order, which completely dried it out, and then they put in the tacos. My burrito was ground beef, also no flavor in the meat at all. It was exactly like the ground beef from Taco Bell, just mushy and horrible. It had a canned dog food texture, I couldnât finish it. The menu said it would come with salsa on top, but instead it came with a red enchilada sauce that was not good. Like it came from a can. The rice was okay. The chips were also okay, but the salsa is almost flavorless. Itâs inexpensive, and they give big sloppy portions of this food, so I think thatâs why people come here. I didnât order a margarita today but in the past I have, and at first I was surprised because it was really big, but after one sip I could tell there was maybe one small shot of tequila in there, honestly I couldnât even taste the tequila, so basically your serving me a large bowl of margarita mix. So I asked the waiter if I could buy an additional shot for my margarita and the look he gave me!! As if I was being rude! I wasnât asking for a free one for goodness sakes. Your charging me for a margarita with maybe, and I do mean maybe, one small shot of tequila and your gonna give me that look? Today my server was polite, but the cashier barely acknowledged us and this is par for course every time I have been here, the cashiers are never friendly, rarely meeting your eyes and never smiling, and sometimes the servers are also not friendly. As if they are just barely tolerating you as a customer. So at this point I wonât be back. Iâd rather risk the runs I have gotten at Don Pedroâs before than come back here again. A repeated...
Read moreSo, I have to say it's been 10 years since we ate here. And I read they've changed owners. And we just had to go there, right? Cuz it's famous, on South Park! We've got to check this place out while we're in Colorado. So when you go in, there was a turnstile (spelling?), when you get to the register, they have two choices. A plate with a flour tortilla and chicken, etc inside, some rice on the right, beans on the left. The other choice was rice on the left, beans on the right. So we paid and then you grab your cafeteria tray to get your food.
By this time, I'm realizing why we had to pay first. I slid my tray across the metal bars and soon came to the serving area. There were about 20 trays under heat lamps. Each and every plate had beans that looked like they had been sitting there for a bit, it was starting to ooze over the side of the plate. The rice was actually stuck to the plate. Got my water, and after the Chimi Nazi stopped yelling at us to hurry up the line, we found a table and, little did we know, we were about to be entertained by the gorilla!
Yes siree, the entertainment was nothing other than a diving gorilla. Some little skit played out, couldn't really hear great, but soon the gorilla dives into the water below! I was transfixed.
I ate some of the tortilla and some rice, but the best was my water! Our waiter was pretty good, he brought us chips and salsa, and I think I had them make me a drink.
Like I said, it looks as though they've been bought out, so hopefully it's somewhat better. But if you find out from a very good source they have not, don't waste your time or your money.
Good luck to the...
Read moreA little too pushy on the masks and didn't ask if my party had any exceptions to the mandate. Two of us had legitimate exceptions to the mandate but did not want to cause a scene and put them in a compromising situation as a business. Otherwise good food and service. I do understand the fear of being micromanaged by the state and local government though so no offense was taken. These are great people providing great food to my community. Glad we dropped in. It just would be nice if they would remember those who cannot comply and not simply offer to sell a mask to the patrons who willingly enter to buy food and not a mask. Again, no offense was taken but wanted to let other people know so they can avoid a potentially...
