Firstly, I'm sure there are many amazing things about the establishment however I'm giving this review based on some baked goods that I purchased. Based on the reviews I was expecting some amazing country baked goods made lovingly by someone's grandma. Unrealistic maybe, but being in Amish country I was in search of some quality bread products. It didn't even occur to me to read the label. It wasn't until I returned to my hotel room and tasted a dinner roll did I read the ingredients list. I could tell by the texture and tastelessness that these buns were staight out of some factory somewhere. I couldn't have been more disappointed. Unfortunately I had also bought a loaf of cinnamon bread whose ingredients list was just as long. I don't know about you but when I make bread the list usually has 5 ingredients or less. We've lived in Lancaster for 2 years and have yet to visit this lovely place. Since it was the first day of spring and they offer a free scoop of ice cream I figured I would support a local establishment rather than a big national chain. It was wonderful ice cream! I also got coffee and bagels afterwards. Just across the parking lot there are a couple of adorable animals in a little fenced enclosure. Today we saw goats, a donkey, and chickens! My girls were all about that. There's also a lovely little playground with a very shallow Creek running through it. I definitely learned my lesson about not bringing Wellies on this bright sunny 45 degree day. We came home with wet feet but happy hearts. This will definitely become a place...
