Ordered two large pizzas and pepperoni rolls on Sunday 3/30, take-out. Arrived exactly on time and food was already sitting on a rack, which sometimes does not bode well for pizza...stood around for a few minutes because nobody was at take-out desk. Two pizza cooks in kitchen looked at me then turned backs and sauntered away (they weren't actively preparing anything at the time). Finally some high school age kid walks up with the generational "cun I hep u?" Gave name and order, he gave me my food and I left. Food seemed quite hot on the hands so maybe my timing was good...maybe...anyway, got home and inspected my treasure. Pretty disappointing, really. First, there is no such thing as a Chicago-style thin crust. Doesn't exist. Second, the only thing "thin" on these pizzas was the toppings. Paper thin pepperoni and mushrooms, and barely enough cheese to cover a light coating of bland tomato sauce sitting on what appears to be a machine-made crust. Both pizzas were soggy in the middle, crispy crust on the perimeter (after 10 min drive home). Pepperoni rolls were decent although the "marinara" provided in one very small cup for dipping was watery, bland, with chunks of tomato that don't work for dipping. I was able to use a coupon to save $10 on both pizzas, so my total bill was $40 instead of $50. I'd say everything combined was about one step above frozen pizza, at twice the price. There's a very good reason you'll never see a Crust Pizza store anywhere near Chicago...they'd be run outta town. LOL. Best to avoid this place and keep looking for a decent pizza joint in SE H-town. Or...buy frozen and pretend...
Read moreI have never in my life, written a review. Tonight’s service was atrocious. We ordered a pizza, wings, wine and dessert. Our dessert arrived first (which included ice cream). I told the “waiter” that we hadn’t received our supper yet, so that we didn’t want the dessert to melt. He said..”I’m confused, whatever.” And set the dessert down and left. 20 min later, they delivered the incorrect pizza. He said he would fix it and never returned. 40 minutes after we sat down, I went to the counter and asked about our pizza and a few minutes later, they brought it out. After we finished we asked about the dessert and no one returned. We went to the counter, again and he said he would bring it out. 10 minutes later, the waiter slammed it on the table and walked off without saying a word. Upon leaving I asked to speak to a manager and he told me, “I’m working on your second dessert.” I told him we already had it delivered and didn’t need “a second” dessert. He came out from behind the counter and talked to me for a moment saying “what do you want me to do?” We will not be back, not that it matters but when you allow children to run and manage your business, it’s unlikely that it will produce happy customers. On top of it all, the restaurant was a dirty mess. We know it’s a neighborhood pizza joint but Lord help! They need to get their act together. Matt and Travis could both use some training. By the way we tipped 20% at the register. You would think they would...
Read moreThis was our first time eating at a Crust Pizza and it was a great all around dining experience for a small group of us on Sunday.
Appetizers We had the Meatballer, Cheese Bread, and a Pepperoni Roll for the table. My wife has a garlic allergy so they made a Pepperoni Roll for her without the garlic. All the appetizers were hot, fresh, and delish.
Main Course I had a meatball sandwich and my wife had a sausage pizza. They were both hot and tasty and plenty big. We have leftovers for dinner tonight.
Dessert We ordered a brownie and a cookie with ice cream and also the cinnamon sticks. The brownie and cookies come in a cast iron skillet with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yum. The cinnamon sticks were OMG delicious!
Service The staff were all very friendly. Both the manager and the owner stopped by our table several times to check on us and the staff picked up plates and bowls to keep our table clutter to a minimum.
Ambiance This place is really new so it is pretty clean and shiny. Kind of an industrial decor on the inside. And it was not very noisy even though it was about half full, which is nice. The patio is nice too and they have several games out there for the kids to play (if only we weren't melting in Houston right now with 100+ heat it would be awesome).
Overall, a definite do over. Great place to relax and enjoy good food with family...
