Im not sure what it is about this place, but the frozen yogurt here tastes significantly different from the other sweet frog in friendswood. I've been here around 3 times and have taken my yogurt to go on all occasions. The yogurt here tends to liquefy extremely quickly and becomes almost a soup by the time i get home. I only live about 3 minutes away. Even putting it in the freezer for 3 hours did not seem to help with the consistency of the yogurt. The taste itself is not that bad, but something is off about it and unfortunately im not a enough of a culinary expert to figure out what it is. I also dont like how the topping bar was designed. Some of the items are too far back to reach comfortably and have to ask employees for assistance unless you want to bend your back over to grab some cheesecake bites. I dont like having to rely on the employee to grab my toppings for me. I want to decide my own portions and not tell someone how much i want. Not to mention that every time i have gone, 1 to 2 flavors were always unavailable due to faulty machines. I understand maintaining a yogurt machine is work, but this place just opened and the flavor options are already limited as is. I was initially super excited since the sweet frog in friendswood is good, but this location leaves much to be desired. I hope with some time, this place becomes just as good as the other sweet frog. Lady behind the counter is nice and friendly when we went but there was definitely an awkwardness to her when speaking. That could just...
Read moreUntrained staff. I came in with a BOGO coupon. The register charge said $21, " I asked, "is that with one free", the employee said "yes, the coupon only applies to the cheaper one". I accepted the response, paid with a $3 tip, and then had to ask her for the receipt because she didn't offer it.
I go in the car, analyze the receipt and find out my froyo was $14, my wife's was $11, clearly a mistake. I go inside to explain the issue, she immediately realizes she accidentally charged it for 25% off one. And states she didn't even read the coupon she just assumed because it looked familiar.
Then she spends the next 10 minutes, trying to figure out how to do the refund. At some point charges me another $14 for my froyo, so she could refund the last purchase entirely, but failed, putting my total at $38. Finally she gives up and asks me to leave my number so the manager can attempt it later. I went back to the car to eat my completely melted froyo, it was a soup, and my wife was done with hers.
I immediately began writing the review, I've only ever written 2 reviews in my life. 10 minutes later she called me to come back inside, claiming that she figured it out. She was able to refund me the $21 but not my $3 tip, conveniently.
I deserved a full refund for all $38 but I didn't bother asking, just to be let down again. Worst Froyo experience of my life, I'm never...
Read moreSweet Frog is a welcomed FroYo establishment to the west side of League City. There are multiple frozen yogurt stations where you can pick your flavors. Each station has two flavors and three pull handles. If you pull the middle one, you’ll get a mix of the two flavors. They pick what tastes best together for you. For example, cheesecake and strawberry are at the same station. So is cappuccino and peanut butter. Both are good mixed with each other. On the other hand, you can stack any flavors you wish by visiting multiple stations. Then, you can add what ever toppings you wish as well. Your final purchase is based upon weight. When we were there, I think it was 75¢ per ounce which made each of ours around $6.50 - $7.00. They gave three different cup sizes. We used a small cup and filled it roughly 3/4 full to give you an estimate. It was plenty of frozen yogurt for one visit. The staff is young and friendly. Occasionally, you can find a BOGO coupon in a local mailer/magazine.
Bottom line - Good frozen yogurt with good flavor selections. Staff is friendly. An...
