We were a party of 11, 7 adults and 4 babies (3,2,1 and 4 months). They don’t take reservations, but we called ahead as a courtesy. When we got there, they did have a table for us, but the owner started with attitude when we tried to ask for high chairs. We were only able to get one for the three year old (must have been the only one they had because we had the only kids in the place), so the two year old and the one year old had to sit in their parents’ lap. Then the owner got annoyed when the two year old knocked over a drink. If she was in a high chair, this would not have happened. The owner was so nasty, I was afraid to tell him the lady’s room was out of toilet paper and the only option was paper towels, which I’m sure will be a plumbing nightmare.
The place was a little busy, not Friday during Lent busy, but quite a few tables were filled. The way the owner was acting you’d think he was packed past capacity with a line around the block waiting to get in. It was nothing two competent waitstaff couldn’t handle.
Unfortunately, they only had one competent waiter, the waitress was in so far over her head that if she hadn’t copped an attitude (eye rolls any time we asked for anything - any chance we can get the drinks you forgot? Can you take our dinner order, it’s been almost an hour? Can we get utensils? Isn’t there supposed to be bread at the table? Oh and my favorite - this isn’t what I ordered - well that’s not my fault - with not even an offer to correct the screw up). As I said, in WAY over her head. Ooo, I almost forgot, when the colas came out with barely any syrup, her reply was I guess the machine is broken, what do you want me to do. Here’s an idea, tell someone who has a clue and they will swap out the canister and all will be fixed.
I was a waitress. I know what it takes to be a good waitress. I also know how hard it can get and that everyone has off nights, but there is NO excuse for attitude especially when everyone was trying to be nice. I’m a ridiculously generous tipper, my norm is between 25-50%, because I remember very well how exhausting the job can be. This time I rounded my bill up to $225, which gave her roughly an 8% tip, which is more than the rest of my party thought she deserved.
The one saving grace for this place, although the orders were screwed up, the meals they put in front of us were delicious (with four babies, all up past their bedtime because the service was so slow, we were not sending stuff back for them to fix). We should have ordered takeout, then they would have gotten a much higher review. I’m glad I live 600+ miles away from this place and don’t have to rely on them for my...
Read moreCheese pizza is most likely always burnt. I will say the Buffalo chicken, and grandma slices are good. Cheesesteaks way too greasy. Almost certain it’s steakums w/ butter. As for pasta lovers, as a connoisseur: very buttery and fatty. If you need proof look at your plate at the beginning, medium and end. Not to mention the owner is very rude; to you the staff and everyone else. Go to Bella’s for penne vodk, noodles, plain pizza. slice not for 3.15 dollars a pop. Galassos provides soggy cheese steaks for 13+/-. (Bellas It’s only half a mile away). . 3.75 for a topping slice … robbery. When the wood stove they say they use….. is not.. i used to work at that establishment when it was Kirsten’s.. that stove they promise. Is closed off and never used.
Galassso change my mind. Make this more affordable for the people. Don’t think because you moved into a wealthy county after your shop burnt down that you will make a fool. Scoff on you for 3.15 slices. And you...
Read moreOur Italian food experience with three of us and our grandson was very delightful and authentic. Started out with a very delicious Zucchini Flowers excellently prepared. My wife loved her delicious Chicken Saltimbocca our friends Pasta with garlic and oil was just right just the way she likes it. My Veal Sorrento was just absolutely awesome and delicious perfectly prepared with tons of flavors from the Eggplant and Prosciutto plus all the cheese. My grandson really enjoyed his children's portion pasta with tomato sauce. The generous portion of Terrimisu was one of the best we've had anywhere. It's very light not heavy at all. I finished off with a very delightful and refreshing Lemoncello Flute which had a wonderful flavor. We've been here in the past but we're gonna try to enjoy ourselves here more often. Grazie mille Galasso's for a very enjoyable experience. M....
