The newly reopened venue in the center of Lebanon Borough in NJ here is an absolute gem. We were fans of the Fox & Hound, which was here for years, but it fell off a few years ago and finally closed for good last year. It sat vacant until reopened by the new owner, Stephanie, and her team.

We live locally and this has quickly become our favorite spot for both family dining and date night, along with late night drinks 7 nights a week. The food is all freshly prepared, breads and rolls baked in house, even hand-breaded calamari and fresh cut fries. The chicken parm is thin-pounded and hand-breaded. The drinks are handmade, beer tap list is exceptional. The prices are reasonable. And the service - let's just say they are ALWAYS happy to see you, excited you are there, thrilled you came back. Homemade food takes time, but the drinks flow and the appetizers are great too. Every server smiles and is excited to help, managers check in regularly. I even met the chef, Andres, who has been with Stephanie for many years at her previous restaurant and is a guy who is passionate about food.

Give this place a chance, and I think it won't be...

Initially excited to see a new dining option in our area, I’ve now visited The Lebanon Pub twice with mixed results, trending downward. First Visit: The atmosphere was quite loud, making conversation difficult. Bar service was noticeably slow, and the cocktails fell short of expectations. The generous food portions were a positive note. Second Visit: Unfortunately, things had not improved. The noise level remained high, and the complimentary popcorn was overcooked. Despite multiple requests, we never received water. Bar service was extremely slow, even for simple beer and wine orders. Kitchen service was painfully slow, and the food quality was inconsistent - the “smash burger” wasn’t actually smashed and lacked proper toppings and condiments. The french fries were severely overcooked and surprisingly scarce (around 12 fries total). While I understand new establishments often experience growing pains, the lack of improvement between visits is concerning. I’d like to support a local business, but won’t be returning until there’s evidence of significant changes in service speed and...

A Pleasant Surprise at the Newly Named Lebanon Pub

Went to a familiar yet new restaurant last night—what was once The Fox and Hound is now the Lebanon Pub. We didn’t realize the ownership had changed until we arrived, especially since the sign still said "Fox and Hound." Despite this unexpected change, I have to say I was impressed!

In my experience, when a restaurant changes owners, the quality often declines, but that wasn’t the case here. Rodrigo, our waiter, provided excellent service, ensuring we had everything we needed. The prices are noticeably lower, with most menu items under $20, which was a pleasant surprise.

The menu leans more toward classic pub food, so I did miss some of my favorite dishes from the Fox and Hound—especially the Steak Frites with truffle fries. That said, the food we had was still quite good. The atmosphere felt very much the same, and despite the restaurant being busy, Rodrigo never missed a beat.

Overall, I hope the Lebanon Pub continues to thrive under its new ownership. It’s always nice to see a place transition smoothly without...

Lebanon pub takes over the original fox and hunt tavern - a total different type of hospitality experience. We went to try on Sat night There was a live acoustic one person band music performing Pretty crowd at the restaurant, waiting time around 30 minutes. We ordered simple pub food - BBQ burger and a signature Beef sandwich Our dinner tasted good ; price was very reasonable. Service was friendly and good. The only thing was not my favorite was the sweet potato fries were too dry and was salt on the top.. it was way too salty In general , the new owner did a great job, we will be there. Congrats for grand opening.

I heard good things about this new restaurant and decided to try it out on a busy Saturday night. We were seated relatively quickly in the bar room. Our Nashville chicken appetizer was delicious. For dinner I had the crispy chicken parmesan entree. The crispy chicken was smothered in tomato sauce, while the penne was dry. A helpful staff member brought me some vodka sauce for the penne. My husband had the fish and chips and enjoyed it, but felt the portion of fish was lacking. The service was fine. Unfortunately, the bar room was very noisy. Hopefully when we try it again we'll get a table in the dining room.
