Tonight 07/10/23 China Wok Leeds was our choice for dinner tonight. Ashley had the roast pork fried rice. She said the brown sauce was delightful and the pork was flavorful and tender. The rice had a rich flavor with a well rounded balance of flavors. I chose the chicken with mushrooms. Since I don't eat cooked veggies other than gravy or chocolate I threw the snow peas, carrots and celery at Ashley. She caught them in her big yap and smiled as she masticated them to mush. She loved them. My dark meat chicken pieces were large and numbered like the stars. I felt like Abraham. The sauce was rich and stayed fresh tasting. It permeated the meat and the mushrooms. What a great meal. Everything was steaming hot when delivered to our table. The aromas were so pleasing. I felt like a pooch in Dr. Pavlov's side porch. All of it we ate. We went, we ordered, pigged out we did. Move we could not do. Stuffed we were. The young lady packed us into two large barrels and rolled us out into the parking lot. She rolled us onto Highway 78. Smiling we were. Jedi powers they have there. We'll be BACH.
01/05/23 Place was VERY CLEAN. Tables, chairs, walls and floors were spotless as were the bathrooms.
After getting beverages and ordering we waited about four minutes for appetizers, hot and crispy egg rolls, much too hot to touch or eat. We sauced up our plates and waited for them to cool. They were delicious.
As we finished those the entrees came out. Ash had hot steamed veggies with beef in a brown sauce in white rice. The plate was alive with color. The veggies framed the beef that was layered out like flower petals. I snitched some before it was on the table. It was very good. The sauce was savory with hints of ginger and soy. Ashley said the veggies were crispy and full of flavor. The blend and balance of flavors was most pleasant according to her. My selection was sesame chicken with fried rice. Plenty is the first word to describe the plate. Much more than I could eat, I knew, from the start. I piled the rice then dished the chicken and sauce on top a little at a time. The sauce was sweet and gentle. It tasted of honey but I'm not sure. We had enough for another meal today at lunch....
Read moreCost is similar to a standard Chinese restaurant, but the portions are larger. Entrees are packed with meat and solid veggies, not "filler" items that you might expect in such a large quantity. My husband is very pleased with his Kung pao chicken, and I'm quite happy with the variety of vegetables and quantity of meat in my chicken with mixed vegetables. I doubt we'll have room to try the chicken fried rice we got to go with it, but judging by the quality of the fried rice we got to go with our entrees, it's going to be amazing. We paid just under $30 for the three items I mentioned, and it looks like we will be able to have leftovers for three separate sittings after completely...
Read moreJust moved into the area and was hoping to find a Good Chinese restaurant. When trying out a new Chinese restaurant, I order the basics. So egg rolls, steam dumplings, wonton soup, pork fried rice. The egg rolls were half the size of what I'm used to and they were over cooked. Steamed dumplings were very mushy, almost rubbery. Wonton soup, broth was just ok, but the wontons like the dumplings very mushy also. Pork fried rice, the pork seemed like it had a lot of gristle in it. I'm used to full pork, cut in cubes, these were strings of pork, and was undercooked. I also don't like Peas in my fried rice, should have let them...
