Their voodoo fries are delicious, no one around can beat them!! Years ago I gave them five stars, I will stand by what I said about the voodoo fries, but I just recently went and their prices have gotten outrageous, they have changed their mac and cheese recipe, there old recipe was fine the way it was, now it tastes like jalapeno queso dip and noodles, its horrible!!!! they also changed their baked beans they were once Very delicious I used to come and get them when I was pregnant all the time, it used to have a lot of meat in it, and a Great Smoky flavor!!! now they just taste like canned beans that they added flavor into, not good at all. There menu shows desserts being $3.79 I ordered two cheesecakes and each one of them ended up being $8 each, their desserts are not worth $8 each!! I ordered $12 worth of mac and cheese, and all of it went into the trash!!! their food used to be great, now the food is just mid at best, lower quality overpriced food at extremely high prices!!! they have a menu board inside their store that shows their old prices yet they have not changed it to their new prices, which is anywhere between 3 to 4 dollars higher than it used to be, it would be nice if they don't want to change the prices on the menu board, they can just put up a sign saying our prices have changed, it's not that hard to put up a sign with customers can see, I was in there with another lady, and me and her both agreed we will not be back!!!! As for his comment about the bake bean recipe being the same for 6 1/2 years and the same person makes it his wife while she must have stopped putting care in it cuz it shows in the taste of the food, and to say that I don't care about small business no I traveled over an hour to eat there, and I previously traveled over an hour to eat there, so it ain't got nothing to do with that This review was simply based on my experience the amount of money I spent for a family of seven the food was...
Read moreFinal Edit** Had a rough first experience but their food is amazing! I absolutely love their chicken cracklins! I am definitely glad I gave them another shot!
Edit Again* Decided to call ahead and pay over the phone. This time around the service was better and the food was excellent! I adjusted my rating to 3 stars because even though this time went great, my first experience with their customer service/communication was absolutely horrible! They truly need to work on providing accurate information over the phone and my last experience could have been avoided. Definitely will give them another try in the future, who knows they could possibly earn the 5 stars🙂
Edit** They want you to pay for an order to make sure it's available when you get there, after you told them you were driving..sounds logical. Maybe if your employee would have told me there's no guaranteeing it will still be there when I got there it wouldn't have been an issue, but she specifically said it was ready and I wouldn't have to wait. All they care about is money, where they need to be focusing on their customer service!! Because idk about you, but it doesn't take me 5-7 minutes to type an honest review on my experience, which is exactly what I initially posted! Oh, and my parents have owned plenty of businesses so I understand how important customer service is!
Original Review* Absolutely horrible customer service! I called for a 1/2 pound of chicken cracklins and they said they had some ready and I wouldn't have to wait the 7 minutes when I got there. I showed up less than 5 minutes after calling and she told me I had to wait 7 minutes because they just sold them to the person in the drive-thru. If I could leave 0 stars I would!! It doesn't matter how good the food is if the...
Read moreI grew up in Kansas City, where your local BBQ place is just casually an international, multiple award winner for their food, so my standards are sky high- that being said battered men's wasn't bad! I got the 2 meat plate with pulled pork and brisket - the pulled pork was great, it stood up without sauce, tender and flavored, it was my favorite! The brisket - it had an amazing flavorful fat layer, so so yummy! But the texture of the meat itself was flaky without being tender, so once you get past the amazing fat layer it's meh smokey meat that you have to chew for a while. The sauce - I don't know if they make it in house, but to me it tasted like sweet baby rays and I left it alone - I prefer spicy bbq sauce so maybe it was just my preference. Sides - get the BBQ beans! They were good! The coleslaw was eh, it wasn't bad like some other places, but just eh. Service - I went through the drive thru and I thought the speed was fine, even fast for a BBQ place. Portions- me, myself, and I ate the whole plate, I thought it was plenty for a starving pregnant woman, but a big guy might not think it's enough. The brisket came with 3 slices and the pulled pork was maybe almost a measuring cup portion. I ate it all before I stopped to realize I didn't take a picture, lol. I'm definitely going back, but next time skip the brisket and try...
