El Sabor de Mis Raíces — Restaurant in Lehigh Acres

Living in Miami over 40 yrs, moved to Lehigh Acres 2 yrs ago, we havnt been able to find a good authentic cuban restaurant. Unfortunately this one is not as expected. Food is ok, had churasco with rice and beans, wife had chicken breast with Moro and yuca. Food was semi cold, 1st time ever I see a chicken breast in a cuban restuarant not thin sliced or butterflied, no seasoning in the middle made it tasteless, it's way to thick, Moro was ehh nothing crazy, My churasco had good seasoning but I asked medium rare it was very over cooked and crispy on edges and beans were ok. Cuban restaurants usually have mariquitas or chicharitas as an appetizer, none here. It's a cuban restuarant with limited menu items, no picadillo, no palomilla, no bistek empanizado etc which is common in cuban restaurants. With a name like Raices I would expect food from my roots along with a dozen other popular items that are not found here but they have risotto? Mind you, I love risotto but What cuban restuarant has risotto on a menu as a cuba dish? Other than that place is beautiful, our server Yudy was excellent. I'm by no means trashing this restuarant or comparing it to Miami's restaurants, I understand that Raices wants to be a bit different and thats fine but in my opinion I believe that with a few tweaks in the menu this place will have a lot of potential, add more traditional cuban meals and stick to the cuban roots on the variety of cuban foods that can be on a menu and this place will reach the stars and the name Raices will stand behind...
