OMG, in my opinion this place should be shut down! I sent this to DQ corporate and no response. No wonder, look at their Lee County Health Department Inspection reports. If you are immunocompromised (or even if you're not) eating here could put you at risk.
I wanted to make you aware of the most appalling behavior I've ever witnessed in any restaurant, let alone, Dairy Queen. My wife and I visited a store we've been to many, many times before since it's so close to our home. I went inside to order and all was well until I saw an employee named Brandon refilling the sauces behind the counter. I would assume they are used to prep sandwiches from the grill based on the store layout. Brandon preceded to take a large, bulk bag of some kind of red sauce like ketchup, put the edge of the bag in his teeth and tear the bag open. Once he opened the bag with his teeth he poured the contents into whatever container was there to fill it. There were two other employees that watched the entire thing and neither of them said a thing about his behavior. I finally was able to get the manager, Tara, to come talk to me. I told her about the situation and she said she would talk to them. She ended up disciplining 1 of the 3 employees, but it wasn't the one who actually used his teeth to open the bag. I told her she talked to the wrong employee and that's when she mentioned Brandon's name and told me that he was new. That really doesn't make any difference at all. New or not, an 18 to 20 year-old should know how dangerous that could be. Surely, foodservice workers like this have to take some kind of basic hygiene training to know this is completely unacceptable behavior. This is exactly how diseases such as E coli, hepatitis, mononucleosis, herpes, flu, common cold, strep throat, norovirus, and even sexually transmitted diseases are spread. I told the manager, Tara, I didn't want my Blizzards, that I was too sickened by watching this behavior. I also told her in the very bare minimum, all sauces in the grilling area should be dumped and the station should be sanitized. I'm SURE that didn't happen. She assured me that her station was clean and that none of those employees had touched my order. That was not the point on so many levels! How do I know what these people do when Tara isn't watching just like what I saw? Maybe they are the ones that clean the dairy machines, stock the cups or whatever. I told the manager I didn't want my blizzards and she insisted they were clean and I had already paid so I might as well take them. Again, a horrible response. Everyone in this store should be fired. I can't believe that the franchise owner or the parent company would want to place themselves in a situation where there could be a hepatitis outbreak because of ignorance of safe food handling procedures. Just absolutely disgusting behavior and I will never go back to that location ever again. I feel it is my obligation to contact the Lee County Health Department to relay my experience at...
Read moreWhere do I even begin with this train wreck of a place? Can you believe I wasted almost 30 minutes waiting for a simple combo meal? It's like they're competing with Disney lines for the slowest service ever. The sheer audacity to call this "fast" food is an insult to customers! Now, onto the catastrophe they dare to call customer service. Nicole or Niki, the lady who took my order, must have mistaken rudeness for a personality trait, and to top it all off, she tried to overcharge me! The entire store looked like a scene from a post-apocalyptic movie. It's as if the word "professionalism" was a foreign concept to them. Employees were too busy gossiping and on their phones to bother with customers, and the place was an absolute pigsty. Dirty tables, trash strewn about, and the floors were so sticky, I was afraid I'd lose a shoe! The food? Oh, you better believe it was nothing short of appalling. The quality was beyond pathetic, and I wouldn't even feed it to my dog. My hard-earned money and precious time, thrown away on this abomination of a meal. Run, don't walk, away from this Dairy Queen! They don't give a darn about their customers or their own reputation. Save yourself the frustration and go to any other place that actually treats you with respect and knows how to serve decent food. You've been warned! Don't let this sorry excuse for a restaurant ruin your day like...
Read moreAfter an employee was rude to us in the bathroom and took up one of the two stalls for about 10 minutes, we were the first on line to order a small meal (2 piece chicken nugget and cheese curds). This was supposed to be our "quick" stop for food on the way to the airport. My sister was already late for her flight and after waiting over 20 minutes for our food, we decided to leave without receiving our food or a refund. By this time, a line had formed of about 10 people behind us, all waiting either to order or for food from the drive thru that had been left out of their order. Everyone became extremely frustrated by the chaos that seemed to be ensuing behind the counter and in the kitchen. The deciding factor for leaving was that the cashier pointed out our order to the kitchen staff who must have missed our order and had not begun making it yet. The cashier then turned around and instead of owning up to it lied to us and said it was coming "right out" in "just a minute or 2" for now the fourth time. I called her out on the fact that he had not started making it and she then finally owned up to it. I would suggest closing this establishment or replacing the entire staff. There is clearly no management or training involved. Do not recommend and for this reason, I won't be visiting any other Dairy Queens in my lifetime either. Horrible first...
