Rock'n Sushi is hidden next to a beautiful little lake that makes for a nice location. I came in just prior to 3pm looking for a late lunch. As I walked in I was immediately greated and was asked if I would like to sit at the sushi bar or a table. I said table and was told to sit anywhere since the place was completely empty. I chose a seat in the back with a partial view of the lake. They have a divider set up next to my table blocking a door to what I believed to be the kitchen. I understand wanting to hide the door but the divider also covered half my view of the lake which was a huge disappointment. After waiting for a very short time I was greeted by my waitress and I ordered the lunch chicken pad thai with a 4/5 spice level. When the food came out the first thing I noticed was the large stems still attached to the cilantro garnish. So after taking those off I decided to dig in. The first bite had decent flavor but had zero spice which was very disappointing. After my first bite I looked down to find a large thick black hair mixed in with my noodles (please refer to pictures). After showing the waitress I was met with mild sorry while asked for it to be remade. I also made sure to ask for 5/5 spiciness since then 4/5 had none. When my remake came out again the first thing I notice is the cilantro garnish. Except this time it wasn't large stems that caught my attention, it was the fact that it was so old it was mostly black (please refer to pictures) I am huge fan of cilantro so this was very disappointing. After doing a quick search for any extra hairs I decided to give it a go. This time around the spiciness was definitely a 5/5 which I was happy with. With the added spice I was pleasantly surprised with the chicken pad thai. The noodles and eggs were well cooked but the chicken was a little dry. As I ate my new spicy pad thai my drink quickly dwindled down to nothing. It took about 5 min. to get a refill even though there was only 1 other customer at the time. After finishing the meal I was asked if I was finished and was brought the check. I was surprised to learn that no discount of any type was offered for the inconvenience of not only having a hair in my food but also having to wait for my meal to be completely remade. I am not someone that looks for free stuff, but when you almost feed your customer a part of your body the least you can do is fully apologize and perhaps offer a simple appetizer for the wait or take a soda off the bill. The second pad thai had a good flavor with a good level of spice and was well cooked. But... I cannot recommend this establishment. I would however like to personally give them another chance since the second dish was very good. Hopefully they can start paying a little more attention to detail and be a great place to have a nice meal while staring out at the lake. Will edit this next trip. Hope my review has helped someone...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences I've ever had. Went by myself and ordered all at once to help server since they were busy. Ordered a corona, sake, sashimi, and tataki. 10 minutes goes by. Nothing. Since I'm sitting at the bar the sushi makers were handing out the food to people at the bar. At 12 minutes I get the sashimi. 2 minutes later the server comes by with a corona (no lime) and begins walking away. I stopped her and asked for a glass, lime, the sake, and utensils. Was I supposed to eat with my hands and no napkin? She returns with a glass and the sake. Nothing else so I still can't eat I politely ask if she had forgotten the napkin and utensils. 2 more minutes and she comes back with a rolled up napkin but no utensils. I'm serious, you can't make this stuff up. Now I'm upset so I go to the front and ask for the manager. The lady working the take out orders (and who was also my server) says she was the manager and asked what my problem was. Wow. So after I explain my disappointment I at least expected an apology and get utensils so I could eat. She offered neither so I told her I was leaving and all she said was "Bye" You know, a lot of people are unemployed from this whole COVID thing and many restaurants are struggling and Rock'n Sushi cannot even serve a corona with a lime.. I'll never go back and I'm sure Rockn Sushi doesn't care that I'm going to tell everyone I know this story. And I know a lot of...
Read moreMy day of house hunting in Fort Myers led me to Rock’n Sushi, and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be! The cozy ambiance immediately put me at ease, and the attentive service from Sam elevated the entire dining experience. I started with the wonton soup, and it was simply delicious. The flavors were comforting, and it set the tone for the rest of the meal. As a sushi enthusiast, I couldn’t resist going a little overboard with the rolls. The tuna lovers roll and volcano roll stole the show, and the sashimi was equally impressive. Each bite was a burst of freshness. Crispy, flavorful, and done to perfection. A great appetizer choice! My realtor opted for the beef teriyaki, and it didn’t disappoint. Tender, savory, and satisfying. While Rock’n Sushi doesn’t have a full bar, their selection of sake is commendable. However, I missed having a martini with my sushi – perhaps a at a later date. Rock’n Sushi combines the artistry of top sushi chefs with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Whether you’re a sushi enthusiasts like me or just trying Japanese cuisine for the first time, this hidden gem...
