Charley's Famous Hamburgers — Restaurant in Lemon Grove

I was told because of an error on their end and how they input the order they would not remake my food. I literally asked for a burger no spread ketchup and mustard instead, I was told because they input the order with something else they could not redo or remake my food. Terribly disappointed because this was a spot I visited whenever I’m on this side of town visiting my grandmother who lives in the senior community across the street. This is not the first issue I’ve had, but I let the first one pass. This will be the last time I spend money here since the customer is not being treated with respect. Unacceptable. I can and will gladly take my money elsewhere if this is how I am being made to feel. If you are okay with anyone making your food how THEY interpret, be my guest and patron here.

2024 update: I have not been back to this location since 2023. Reason being they messed up on two orders and were very rude and not helpful about correcting orders. If the customer is right, then why is it so hard to fix a burger or fries? The fries are from a separate order also in 2023. This used to be my go to burger spot until today. The owner of this establishment is rude and has no customer service. I ordered a total of three combos all of them prepared differently spent roughly $45.When it came to my son's burger the order was incorrect. I sent my son back up to the window to get the correct burger the owner was rude to my son sending him away.. I proceeded to get out of the car and explain the situation and ask if the burger could be remade or at least give my son a top button with no sauce.. He was rude to me as well and told me he could remake the burger, but he would have to charge me for it. All he had to do was give my son another top bun that had no mustard on it. So I threw the burger back through the window and told him he could have it. He proceeded to come out of the building and stand in front of my car to keep me from leaving the premises, yelling and screaming at me and telling me that I needed to come clean up the mess. While my son was in the car Such a scary experience. Then proceeded to tell me never come back. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced And this man has no business working with the public. I will tell everyone I know about my experience and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone great food...

Came here tonight for the first time. I keep seeing this place every time I go to Chef John’s (awesome fish and chips btw) and I keep meaning to try their burgers. Tonight I finally did. I ordered the #6 and boy let me tell you, it was really good. Probably ranks in the top 3-5 burgers I’ve ever eaten. Definitely superior to In-N-Out. And the bacon added a perfect extra oomph; it was nice and chewy and didn’t taste greasy at all. The fries were also salty and perfectly crispy, and tasted really fresh.

I also ordered a small vanilla milkshake for my 10-year-old daughter and she said it was so good she didn’t want to stop eating (drinking?) it. She had to force herself to stop and put it in the freezer when we got home so she’d have a treat for later. Made me wish I’d gotten a shake for myself, and in fact when I said this to her, she shrugged and said, “You’re really missing out.” LOL!

The guy who helped us was also super nice and very patient since it was our first visit. I wish I’d gotten his name so I could give him a shoutout here. He looked to be in his early 20s and had dark hair.
