I was excited about try this new Mexican seafood eatery, but sadly I was disappointed, and at the same time hopeful they will take the necessary steps to improve.
The place is very nice inside and offers a lot of space. The location includes a bar and indoor and patio seating.
The menu offers a plethora of seafood items, but I decided on the surf and turf burrito for $14.50 or essentially $15.65. At this price, I was excited for my large plump burrito filled with succulent shrimp and carne asada.
Disappointedly, the burrito was under sized and lacked both shrimp and especially the beef. The meat, although tasty and tender, consisted of only a few strips here and there. There was not much to taste and enjoy. The shrimp were not only under seasoned, but also were lacking in numbers. A few more would of been good. I was quite sad at this point.
The burrito did come with a lot of white rice and partially melted white cheese. The white rice was cooked well but under seasoned, and that cheese, never truly had the opportunity to melt through the burrito. The burrito also came with strangely enough, with large pieces of lettuce. I don't think they had any business in the burrito, unless they were to chop the lettuce up finely and add it with some pico. The large pieces had me scratching my head. They also put chopped tomatoes in the burrito. The didn't help much.
In addition to needing a lot more meat and more shrimp, the burrito was dry inside: meaning it needed a sauce. A white sauce or chipotle aioli would suffice. Some avocado would of been a nice addition, too.
Cecelia was my server and she was very nice. I explained my frustrations regarding the lack of meat and shrimp in the burrito, but not much came out of that conversation. I even opened it and showed it to her as my picture depicts.
If they do not improve the surf and turf burrito, I would consider getting...
Read moreI would have given you pics but was kind of embarrassed. The server she tried hard as well as the cooks. But still too new and I will return later in the year. Because I believe they can do better. The beer was cold, I was provided no fork or napkins when I sat down at bar. I had already started to eat my burrito and already killed one basket of chips before I finally asked and they gave. Burrito was good. Need more salsa at the beginning of the chips and salsa. And definitely need more food in the Surf and Turf fajitas and no white rice please with Mexican food. I thought it was a kids meal. As stated at the beginning they are new it had only been open a week. So I pray they understand this was honesty and pray they improve. I loved the atmosphere. I have only been home 3 years and I have seen numerous restaurants at this location. So I pray they last and improve on the amount of food on the plates especially the fajitas because I have numerous pics and at the Moment to small or not enough. I dined in and also took home some food that I ordered for take home. You can check out my reviews of Miguel Cocina and check out the picture of...
Read moreI was driving through the area and noticed this place... very appealing with its large patio. Went inside and was quickly greeted and served. Friendly and accommodating staff. Very clean and a great scent of the food cooking in the kitchen. This got my appetite rumbling. I ordered the shrimp cocktail with callo. Omaiga...the party of wonderful flavors and textures in my mouth. I was ready for a cigarette if ya know what I mean. The shrimp was delicious and that sauce! I must know that secret 🤤. The callo melts in your mouth...if you have not tried it I don't only recommend it but I insist! All washed down with a cold and refreshing hand crafted michelada and of course agua de pepino. As I was getting ready to leave I caught the wonderful aroma of someone else's dish coming out. I don't know what it was but oh boy next time I'm back in town I will definitely find out. This is now my go to place for fresh and delicious...
