Donna's Diner — Restaurant in Lenoir City

I was prepared to love this place based on reviews but was disappointed. Had breakfast around 930 a.m. My husband had the ham and biscuit with gravy. He said the gravy was cold, and he was unable to eat the very salty ham (and he likes his salt). My sausage was overcooked, probably had been sitting under a lamp for a while. I ordered a biscuit with my breakfast, but didn't have any bread at all on my plate. My husband said the waitress would be right back with more coffee, so I waited til then to point out I didn't receive my biscuit. She brought me one, but then charged extra for it, saying I "claimed" I never received one. What, I stuffed it in my purse?? That right there changed the experience from disappointment to unpleasant. Food is always hot and delicious. There are a lot of great choices from hamburgers, hot dogs, clubs, many other sandwiches, salads, and plate options. Daily plate options. Breakfast is also amazing, and you have many options from full plate breakfast with meat, eggs, fried potatoes, biscuit and gravy to biscuit with meat. Pancakes are delicious and as large as a dinner plate. We eat breakfast and lunches many times a week. You feel welcome as an old friend. ...

Like you're eating in Donna's home. 'quaint', I suppose, is the word. We love local dives, and this is a great one.

Truly down home food. Solid, basic breakfast and lunch, served in a tiny little shack hidden away in a local park.

Some of the best pinto beans and fried okra I've ever had. Haven't had the burger yet but I hear it's great.
