Overall poor experience. Six people in our party, put in order, was told by the counter attendant that it would take about 30 minutes to get our food. No problem, we can shop around downtown while they make the food. Asked if they could call us when it was ready. Was met with a blank deer-in-the-headlights look. Forty-five minutes later, we return. Food still isn't ready. We sit down. Wait. And wait. Aaaaand wait. This was after the traditional "lunch rush" tomeframe and there were only three other people in the shop. Finally the first two sandwiches come out. Then we are told that they are waiting for more bread to thaw because they didn't prep enough. Final sandwich comes out wrong. We wanted to try two sauces on the side and not on the sandwich. Sauce is on sandwich and second side of sauce is nowhere to be seen. No spinach on sandwich either. This final item took an additional 20 minutes to come out - everyone else was pretty much finished eating. They offered to make another for us. We refused just asked for some sauce and spinach on the side. This seemed to utterly baffle the kids working there, but they complied with the request. It still took longer than necessary to bring that out. Owner was not very apologetic and offered a 10% discount on the next order. Sorry, first impressions mean a lot. We wanted like this business, we WANTED it to succeed, but don't think it is going to do well. Want to give you another chance, but it was just...
Read moreFantastic, healthy, delicious food, and a quiet, homey atmosphere - it's my new favorite spot to get lunch in Lenoir City. The baked subs are delicious, and I especially liked Taco Tuesday - though note that they're serious about Taco Tuesday, you can't get sandwiches on Tuesday, only tacos! Don't expect it to be ready instantly, there's a small staff and they make everything as you order. Personally, I'd rather the sandwich be fresh and the ingredients sliced as you order (like at, say, Jersey Mike's) rather than picked out of a bin (like at, say, Subway), it was a nice change of pace. Do check the hours if you're a little outside the lunch or dinner windows - being a small staff, they take a break from 2-5 and aren't open while it's slow. But when I showed up late, they were courteous enough to chase me down the sidewalk and offer to make a sandwich to go when I messed up at 2:05 and dejectedly walked away! Sides are Carolina Kettle chips in a variety of flavors, and premium Boylan and Nashville Sweet Tea Co. lemonades, iced teas, root beer, canned/bottled alcohol options - no fountain drinks or fries here! As a Dad, I particularly appreciated that the (very clean!) restroom has a full-on wooden changing table with a covered pad, stocked with baby wipes. It's been a couple years for me, but I remember having to change my kid in the women's restroom, on those gross "Koala care" shelves, or on my lap/in the...
Read moreWow that was good. I have been patiently waiting for 2 years like others to try these subs. I was a bit skeptical about the rave reviews as I was wondering if they were authentic reviews or just by friends and family. I mean all the reviews were saying they were the best subs ever. Well they did not lie. My husband just brought home 3 different subs for us to try. The Cuban Linx, AZ creeper and the white rhino. I thought for sure I was not going to like the white rhino cause I am not a fan of mushrooms. To my unbelievable surprise and delight all the sandwiches were magnificent. We all gobbled them down. Our favorite 2 being the Cuban and Rhino. The bread rolls were amazing, fresh and had the perfect crispy crunch. They knocked it out of the park with the flavors. We've had quite a few Cubans since we moved here from Florida 5 years ago but this is the first time I've really loved one from this area. I can positively say without a doubt that we will be regulars!!! Run, don't walk to try these subs, you...
