Highly Recommended!!
I have to say, I am seldom surprised, but this place surprised me. I tried Twisty Thai first early this year (2023) - I believe they had opened back in April or something... (just a general guesstimate as I cannot remember exactly). New Haven is a small town, and I love trying new things that pop up here. Unfortunately, sometimes these places do not last very long. This place seemed to go the same route. Wow, the food sucked! I am a snob when it comes to food so I do not often give food five stars... but, I was raised old school and will usually clean my plate if I can or at least keep what is left for leftovers. This food was so bad that I ate less than a quarter and had to dump the rest. The Pad Thai sucked, there was no sauce... only a piece or two of the protein... etc. Everything else I ordered was the same. A couple of weeks later the location closed and did not open again.
Fast forward to now... I had thought the business went under... maybe it was just for sale or going through a re-organization. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the restaurant was open again. I then started seeing many positive reviews on Facebook. After a bit of follow up, I heard the place had changed owners or something. OK... my "go-to" Thai place is Phuket Thai on 23... but I figured with all the hype around this place I would try it again...
Again, I was shocked! The food was amazing. I ordered Pad Thai medium plus spicy with extra egg and fried tofu... there was so much protein it has surprised me... there was a perfect amount of egg... everything about the dish was shockingly perfect, right down to the amount of bean sprouts and peanuts!!! We tried crab Rangoon... again, perfect shape, perfect crunch (even in a carry out order), really tasty!
If you are in the mood for Thai food, I highly recommend this place. I don't know what happened, if there was a change in ownership or what, but I can wholeheartedly recommend this place without...
Read moreThe food is tasty, but incredibly overpriced. I ordered Pad Thai beef, with extra beef (for an extra $2) and the amount of beef I got was pathetic, maybe 3 ounces. On top of that they charged a $1.50 convenience charge - not sure what that's about, it's definitely more than the credit card surcharge you sometimes get a smaller locations, which is usually 2-3%. This was closer to 10%. All total my Pad Thai was $18.85, though I admit I did tip (which I almost always do at smaller places when I get carryout),. Unlike when I get Chinese, there was not enough for (even the noodles) for a second meal. I doubt...

Drop by today.
Small place but good food. Good curry. I tried their Gang Gai or chicken red curry, which was sweet and good. It tastes like it suppose to taste. I also had Pad thai which tasted correct. No issues.
Good to know I have a Thai restaurant a block from my work. Excellent.
Hmong family owned which is good. Hmong can run good thai restaurants. Keep up the quality!
I also wanted to advise that my coworkers also ate food here too. He said the previous owners food was bad. The new owners have a richer flavor. Better...
