To the owners in regards to the rude female long haired brunette that waited on us today, 8/4/23. My husband and I are weekly regulars that enjoy Nook's food for the last couple of years. Today we had a very negative experience. We sat in the second section off to the side, first table, and the waitress asked us to move into the first section when she approached (no 'hi, how are you'), mind you, the Section Closed sign is NOT up. We asked her why and she replied they were shutting the section down so they could keep an eye on all the tables in the first section. We asked why the regular ladies group who had just left and their table was still dirty, why they get to sit there and not us and the waitress had no response so she decided to wait on us and slammed the Section Closed sign in the middle of the isle then proceeded to gossip with the staff in the kitchen about her experience with us not moving. At that point we decided to leave so no one spits in our food, because, as I've worked in the food industry, I have seen that happen. Being in the industry, you don't asked the customer to move, that comes down to the proper training in which she didn't have. The proper way to handle this is to just wait on us without an attitude and then move the sign after we're done eating. As many times as we've been there, the owners may want to show up to check their staff's customer service skills. To the owners, please don't respond to this review with the same auto reply response going thru staff issues you've given other...
Read moreA local gem, hidden right in plain sight. This isn't your average diner. I've been a few times now, and everything is always excellent. First off, the fries are a cut above. Nice and crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. My wife is a big fan too, and is constantly talking about how she wants "Noah's fries." The burgers are great too. I believe their menu says they're using local beef, and the difference in quality is clear. I've had the Breakfast Smash and the Patty Melt, and both were great, as was the fish and chips. I usually need to drown my fish in tartar sauce to enjoy it, but I found it was delicious just on it's own (to be clear, it does come with tartar sauce; I just tried it plain to see how it was).
Also, the staff are great. I got the Patty Melt on my most recent visit. I was about to walk out the door when I heard someone say "wait, don't leave!" The cook came out from the back and said "I almost forgot to put the grilled onions on your patty melt! That would've broke my heart." Usually in a good review you don't hear about something being forgotten, but in this case, it says a lot about how much the staff care. We're all human and make mistakes, but he caught it and made an effort to make it right. I've worked in restaurants for many years, and trust me, there's no shortage of cooks who would've just said "whatever" and let me walk out the door. This showed that the people there care about the quality of the food they serve. It's that sort of thing, along with the tasty awesomeness, that's gonna keep me...
Read moreI believe in keeping my business local if at all possible been going here for lunch and breakfast on occasion for the last year or so. I used to go to the coney in Howell but this was closer and looked like a nice place. Usually have a good experience but today wasn’t the case my breakfast wasn’t cooked to our expectations the food was cold and undercooked. I couldn’t explain this to our waitress as she never once came back to our table not even to refill our coffees. Had 3 waitresses and 2 people cooking there was all of 7 or 8 tables with customers and yet no one came to ask how our food was let alone to refill our coffee. When I went to pay for our food not once was I asked how everything was so I took it upon myself to tell the cashier this was not a good experience and the food was horrible. This fell on deaf ears and she took my payment. I am not one to look for a discount but I do expect some kind of explanation or apology again nothing. May be going the extra mile back to Howell coney as this never...
