I had high hopes for a fun, memorable time at Lake Park Golf Course with my groomsmen and family the evening before my wedding, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a deeply unpleasant experience.
First and foremost, the staff’s behavior was shockingly rude and disrespectful. I’ve been to many golf courses, and never have I encountered staff as unprofessional as we did here. One of our party members was falsely accused of playing when they weren't (even though they paid and had every right to play) because this staff member was trying to rush us, and then the staff member went as far as taunting him, claiming he was lying, which he absolutely wasn’t. To make matters worse, we witnessed this same staff member walk up to another group, ask to see a player’s beer, and then pour it out on the grass right in front of him. This kind of treatment was unacceptable.
To add insult to injury, we later saw this same employee eating in the kitchen when he should have been serving. One of our group members didn’t even get a bun with his cheeseburger, something you'd think would be a basic requirement. The whole experience with the staff was disappointing, to say the least.
On top of all this, I was charged $106 for two players who had to cancel last minute. I had specifically called ahead and asked if we would be charged if someone didn’t show up, and was repeatedly told no—we were assured that everyone would pay at the door. Despite this, my card was still charged, and to make matters worse, I’ve spent the last four days of my honeymoon trying to resolve this issue. I’ve left multiple voicemails with both the general and assistant managers, but have received no response. When my wife finally spoke to someone, they immediately dismissed her concerns, as if they were expecting our call. They only offered a golf credit, but I am demanding a refund due to the complete lack of communication and terrible customer service. We had 12 players, so have given this course more than enough money.
Overall, the experience was disappointing, frustrating, and far from the kind of service you would expect from any establishment. I would not recommend booking a tee time here to anyone. The lack of professionalism, customer service, and basic courtesy was...
Read moreBe warned!! Tee time mgmt is an issue. This course is always...Always backed up. Thought today was gonna be different since the pace was solid. Turns out, I was bamboozled. Had a tee time for 659 on Sat. My group was keeping pace with the group in front. Not pushing them at all but no waiting between shots. Group behind was doing the same with us. Everything seemed grand. Then we got to the back 9 at 840 and there is now a line of 8 carts. Apparently they let tee times go from hole 10 at a certain time to play 9. The first group said their tee time was 838 and there were 2 other groups behind them waiting. The group I play in front of me all morning pushed through. I pull up and am told I now have to wait until the entire other 3 groups play before we can tee off. I was quite upset because we were all keeping pace (that the course set) but now we are being punished for it and have to wait because they are trying to squeeze every dollar they can. Asked to get a 9 raincheck since this round was now gonna be longer than we anticipated. Was told sorry your pace was up to standard so no raincheck. I get the argument there but still think it would have been the right thing since your tee sheet was not planned appropriately or you failed to marshal properly which all the groups agreed could have solved it all. Conclusion:you get what you pay for at...
Read moreIf I could give this course 0 stars, I would. To start, the course’s name is Lake Park. I didn’t even see the lake. The only view I got was the gas station and homeless people across the street. When we arrived, we assumed it would be a fun 9-hole course. What they failed to put on their website is that it would be 8 par 3’s and 1 par 4. Used 3 clubs in my bag total. Maybe next time put that on the website so people don’t spend $40 for a 1-hour round (45 mins just waiting to hit).
Next, the pace of play. By the time we were on hole 3, we were waiting 20 minutes to get to the tee box. No marshal to help regulate play, and no golfers that actually care about the course.
Next, the customer service. Every time we tried to call, it would take 5 minutes to even talk to someone. When they did answer, they had no clue how to answer our questions. When we asked for a refund after realizing it’s a par 3 course, they said no. I guess that’s why they put “no refunds” on the website.
Now that I’m talking about the website, let me mention that it’s the most unstructured, unorganized mess I’ve ever seen. Confusing and not informative at all. Overall, I hate this course and will never come back. Just sell the course and build a shopping center...
