Hot tip: seats to avoid: If you want to have time to eat your food while it is still hot... which won’t be long in this cold-air conditioned restaurant even with the weather 19 degrees outside..Ask for a table that is not directly under the AC vent ..the ac vents are along the directly overheard of the wall booths in the main dinning room. Smart tip: when you go out to eat, bring your own reusable ziploc bags to pack your to-go leftovers. Their to go boxes are huge and non- recyclable plastic. Rib lover tip: get the full rack and take a half home to consider 6 dollars of savings when you do the math, it’s worth it! The ribs are very close to being as great as texas roadhouse. They’re not as quite as smokey. The sauce is a well balanced sweet honey bbq. First time eating at a cheddars scratch kitchen first impressions: beautiful decor restaurant with a nice outdoor seating patio and a large sit up bar. There is an amazing aquarium that is viewable from both the main dining room and the bar. There is a high ceiling reminiscent of a polynesian community hut, outfitted with rotisery style lauhala palm fans, in the cool main dinning room. The service was attentive, accurate and speedy on a late week night. I would have liked for the servers to actually present the food and explain the items being served so that someone at the table would know that a plate of appetizers that was improperly set directly in from of them was actually in fact an appetizer and not assume that was what they ordered because they get confused due to having dementia. Server didnʻt know that, but the hiccup in that food delivery and lack of presentation caused an avoidable embarrasing situation at our table. This needs to be part of staff training about consideration for people with invisible disabilities.
The parking lot was jam packed even though the place didnʻt have many seated guests. I came excited to get their onion rings seen on a menu on google from a year ago. I should have checked for a current menu but i didn’t anticipate any restaurant ever removing onion rings from a menu. Dissapointing to find out they no longer had onion rings since two years ago. Got a full Rib rack which was falling off both edges of the too small plate it was served on. I wanted the rack to arrive at the same time as the appetizers i ordered all at the same time so people could share the ribs as pupus. That didn’t happen. They brought the trio platter separately and first; then took everyone else’s order before bringing out the ribs resulting in my husband ordering way too much food. Surprisingly loved the seasoned large cut plump french fries. Their house chips and salsa that came with the trio pupu platter included great fresh crushed processor crushed tomatoes and super thin chips. The cheddar queso was very mild in spiciness but deep in cheddar flavor and somewhat heartburn inducing. The house made honey mustard dressing for the crispy light fluffy battered moist chicken tenders was mistakenly not identified early enough to gain full enjoyment as the spinach dip stole the show. Food was fabulous.. at least the first few bites were.. the ones we ate while food was hot. The air kinda ruined the rest of the meal. We were in a minor hurry anyway so it isnʻt like we sat there forever to allow the food to get cold before finishing up. They really need to rethink those airvent placements and install some kind of diverters and diffusers. 3pcoldax Tuesday...
Read moreMy mom, aunt, and I went to your Lexington, Ky Cheddars location yesterday because we have always had a good experience and good food at this restaurant. Unfortunately, that was not the case yesterday.
We waited five minutes to be acknowledged and seated at hostess stand. There was no one around or watching for customers coming in the door.
Once we were finally seated our waitress seemed too busy to help us, didn’t care about our experience, and it was like we were bothering her when we asked for anything.
My mom and aunt ordered the fish and chips lunch special while I ordered the Dijon chicken and mushrooms. The fish was very bland with no seasoning including salt in the batter before it was cooked. My chicken was dry and my mashed potatoes were cold (portion was very small).
I was given the check and was told to pay on the device on the table. I tried to pay it on the screen but it wouldn’t take my gift card for some reason, selected call server and looked for her but she was no where to be found. We waited almost fifteen minutes before the server finally came back to assist us and no one else was around to help us either.
The server took my card back in the back to pay the bill (but with attitude) with it but didn’t return with my card- just the receipts. I asked her for my card back and she had no clue where it was. She wasn’t worried about it but I wouldn’t leave without it so she went to look multiple places and supposedly it was dropped in the ice bin? This whole searching for my card process took another fifteen minutes.
It’s really a good thing that we weren’t in a hurry because our server sure wasn’t. She seemed more interested in socializing than serving customers. She also claimed that she was busy making coleslaw while we were waiting for drinks but even if that was the case our service should not have suffered.
Another issue we had was Cleaniness of the restaurant. Floors in entire restaurant were slick but especially the women’s bathroom and ramp to the bathroom. This is especially concerning my family because my mom and aunt are older and I worry about them falling. Then there was trash all over the floor in the women’s bathroom and didn’t look like the toilets and sinks had been cleaned for a long time.
This meal was a belated Mother’s Day lunch for my mom and aunt but it wasn’t a celebration or enjoyable between all of the issues we had with the restaurant Cleaniness, our...
Read moreHonestly my worst restaurant experience. Our server, Linda, got our drink and appetizer order at the same time, drinks came out fine but the appetizer never came. We saw her go outside to smoke while we waited on our food that took 30 minutes and had emptied our glasses in the time we waited. The condiments we asked for were not with the meals, when we asked about them, she said she was going to go get them but never did. When asked about our appetizer she made up a lie about the kitchen giving it to another table because no one had brought it out (other servers were bringing out the food for her other tables and I am certain that they would have brought ours out had it been rung it). I am only certain of the fact that she did not ring it in because the POS station was behind us and she did not use it to ring in our drinks and did not touch it until we ordered our entrees. She then proceeded to avoid our table and chat with other tables and we had to flag her down to ask for boxes at which point she tried to over compensate and said, I quote “don’t murder me over the cheese fries”. It was clear she was only trying to salvage her tip after the terrible service we had received. As a server of 3 years, I understand that sometimes things go wrong, but the lying and avoidance and mediocre food really made this experience terrible. The busser tonight (10/26/22) was very kind and helped serve us more than he is required to, if he is trying to be promoted to server, he more than deserves it with the hard work and good attitude I saw him exhibit with our table and others. I could not imagine giving such terrible service to any of my patrons and expecting to still be tipped well. Of course, I left 20%, but I had came out to dinner prepared to give a larger tip, as I had a generous patron the night before, but Linda gave the lowest quality of service I have ever seen in the restaurant industry. I will...
