Absolutely DIGSUSTING inside!!!!! I went to this restaurant on October 27th of 2022. My family ordered a taco salad, chicken chimichangas, chicken straps + fries, and a Hawaiian chicken meal. The entire order was 70 usd. Every meal was about 15 dollars, and it was clearly frozen or store-bought. That, and the refried beans that we were served had a rancid bean crust that was as thick as a tortilla chip. (Was NOT a tortilla chip.) In addition, the chicken was completely dried, as if it was overcooked and then frozen. Street tacos alone (Carne asada, cilantro, and diced onion on a corn tortilla) were FOUR DOLLARS EACH!!!!!! This restaurant claims to have "authentic" Mexican food, but it is not. If I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would. Absolutely revolting. There were cockroaches and the food induced poisoning right after.
Tl,dr: far too expensive for Mexican food, and of poor quality, caused food poisoning and...
Read moreI'm writing this review for the food, not the service. This restaurant does not stand alone in Lexington, Kentucky. I am from the Chicagoland area, I have yet to find an" Authentic" Mexican restaurant. They don't exist. My husband & I ordered Steak Chimichangas at El Sabroso restaurant. I was EXPECTING the Chimichanga to be a fried burrito (flour tortilla), seasoned steak, beans, rice & cheese. WHAT I GOT was a fried burrito (flour tortilla), steak, smothered in queso. No beans, no rice, no cheese. Like I said before, this restaurant does not stand alone. All of the Mexican restaurants that I have visited so far in Lexington, Kentucky have been very disappointing. The people have been great! The service is always good. The food is not. I really enjoy Mexican food. If you've never eaten Authentic Mexican food, this is a good place to eat. If you have eaten Authentic Mexican food you may be disappointed by El...
Read more1.5 is not a rating option, so i went ahead and rounded up since i felt generous. The white cheese dip i ordered with the chips wad thick and clumpy; however, the taste was better than out appeared. Not worth the extra $5 charge. We chose to confine or orders to the limited lunch specials. My bed chimichanga wouldn't hold together to eat. Husband tried the deep - fried tacos which were bland. My request for a spoon was interpreted to be a weird request and had to be requested a second time. We only left a$4 tip because or male server was polite and accommodated our requests. Felt like a waste of money, but we deserved the loss for taking a gamble eating where there was only one other customer. Slim chance we will try a second time with the dinner menu just because of proximity to our home. We love authentic Mexican and would welcome hearing any different...
