My experience here almost ruined my first time in Lexington.

Pros The location is great! The decor on the inside is cute as well!

Cons My latte was pretty much all hot milk with a dash of espresso. The worst part was an extremely rude employee. She had a terrible attitude from the moment I walked in. It made things so uncomfortable that my friend said she wasn’t going to purchase anything because she didn’t want to support a business with rude employees. When my latte was done, one employee said, “I have a non-fat latte ready.” I began to put my laptop back in my bag. Then, about 30 seconds later, as I was getting my things together to go up and get the drink, within 60 secs of it being ready, the rude employee yells at me at the top of her lungs, “I GOT A NON-FAT LATTE READY!” I was about 4 feet from her at the time and there weren’t many people in the shop. When I made eye contact with her, she picked up my drink and said with the most sarcastic tone “your drinks going to get cold.” My friend and I left and went to the bakery a few doors down. The bakery saved our trip! I absolutely would not recommend this shop to anyone until they find a new employee who actually wants to...

This place has been open a while but I understand they recently got new management. I rarely go here because their coffee is so expensive (and their hours are weird) but every once in a while I'll pop in and have a treat! The coffee is good, the bagels yummy too! Unfortunately I did have a somewhat unpleasant experience with an employee, who was annoyed with me because I asked what syrups they had and couldn't see the chalkboard menu (which was pretty haphazardly written on there and this place always has a crowded menu with a lot going on so it's hard to read) this wasn't so bad but the same employee got even more annoyed when an older couple came up and asked if they could be read the sizes and the dude was like "you can look at the menu" and the older man explained that he couldn't read the menu because he had cataracts or something. The employee was even more annoyed. I just thought, Jesus give people a break. Maybe they need to simplify their menu so it's more readable? I hate to see employees (especially those who work at a lazy small town coffee shop) be rude to their customers. Most of us are paying a hefty amount of money for a drink, the least we expect is...

Sadly when we visited and I bought my out of town friends with me the espresso machine was out of order and the menu was limited to coffee and or ice coffee. My friends were not impressed and I certainly hope they will return when things are back in order again. Coming in from a bigger city some people become accustomed to having another shop close by to go to instead when something is broken. I recommend getting that fixed asap before you loose too much business. The cashiers were acting kind of goofy and seemed a bit confused about the orders of 1 hot coffee and 1 ice coffee with a squirt of caramel flavor but eventually pulled it together and the coffees appeared as they moved onto the next order in line- my friends. I wanted to show off our little coffee shop as a part of why Rockbridge is such an amazing place, and my friends didn't feel the welcoming vibe that is normally displayed in and around Lexington and especially the small local businesses. You haven't lost a fan, but you did not gain any new ones either. Best of luck to you moving forward, I hope that you were able to get the...

Stopped for a short visit to grab to-go coffee on our trip up the Blue Ridge Parkway and back home to the Midwest. This coffee shop in downtown Lexington, VA was adorable! The two ladies behind the counter were very kind and willing to make a particular latte drink that my husband likes but that was not on the menu. I orders a 16oz caramel macchiato, which was so good! The total for 2 16oz lattes was ~$9 and some change. The place had an great vibe with additional tables/seating back behind the counter. We loved our stop by!

Hands down the best coffee I have had in the Shenandoah valley!! Their self serve regular coffee always taste just as clean and delicious as the coffee I make in my French press every morning. Not only is it some of the freshest it’s also cheaper than the other coffee shops I frequent between Rockbridge and Augusta county. A 12 Oz usually costing the same or less than an 8 Oz at other shops. I must also add they have a unique atmosphere and a wide selection of goodies to pair with your morning beverage.

Good coffee. Great bagels. Seems like sesame bagels are a dying breed at coffee shops, so that made me happy. Cool little coffee shop. Not the poshest, but has a small town feel. Beware, there is a wall with mugs that regulars bring in and hang up, that they reuse and drink coffee from. Do not use them. They staff seemed a little weirded out that I asked about it, like I should already know, which I clearly didn't.
