Had heard this was a great little coffee house. Decided to hang out here while my girlfriend had an appointment. For 2 sandwiches (with chips, no fries), 2 coffees, a cinnamon roll, and a juice, the bill was $35. The waitress was very hurried and rushy, even though the place wasn't busy yet, and though I had told her we would be there for over an hour. Once I was finished eating and went to the restroom, I came out, and my bill, which hadn't even been completed yet, as I hadn't left a tip, yet, was removed from the table, and my 3 kids were standing outside. When I went outside, I found out the kids were being rushed out of the restaurant because they 'needed the table'. My KIDS were told that we couldn't leave yet because someone had to sign the receipt. I was just in the bathroom! I will NEVER give this place my business again, nor will I EVER suggest it to anyone. It is extremely overpriced and very unprofessional, in my opinion. Edit After I signed the receipt, left the tip (which I wouldn't have left, knowing what I know now), I came out to find out that the waitress was cleaning the table and told them someone had to sign the receipt, yet TOOK the receipt from the table before they ever went outside. They went outside because they were made to feel awkward, like they...
Read moreMy wife and I were regulars of the then “Coffee Pub” for years and always enjoyed the food and our service/servers.
Several years ago it came under new ownership and it is now the Tack House Pub. We are not as regular going there as we used to be only because weekend obligations have changed. My favorite dish for breakfast has always been the Giacomo. The first several times I went there after the new ownership I was only given 1 slice of toast with the meal. (You used to get 2 slices). When I asked about a second slice of toast I was told the meal came with 1slice and I would have to pay extra for a second slice. Last Sunday I was there for breakfast and again ordered the Giacomo. I got 2 slices of toast with the meal this time but the meal/serving size was about 2/3 - 3/4 the size it used to be and there was hardly and I mean hardly any corned beef on it and despite me asking for my eggs over medium, they were well done. The whole taste appeal of the meal is the combination of flavors between the eggs, corned beef and potatoes. The meal I had last Sunday was pretty much fried eggs over their Pub potatoes. Very...
Read moreOur family went here for brunch on Sunday (first time). Very cute little place, and they do let you call ahead to put your name on the list so that's a huge plus. Service was 5/5, but the food was just lacking. Two of our group had the War Admiral which was sightly overcooked and just seemed like a bunch of frozen veggies thrown together in a pan. I was really excited to try their "soon to be famous" corned beef hash. Don't think it's ever going to get famous. The corned beef itself is very good, but all the did was dump it on their "pub fries" which seem to be nothing more than frozen home fries you'd buy at a grocery store. No peppers, no onions, so just pretty blah. The special blueberry pancakes were actually delicious, but they don't even have syrup bottles-they literally bring you packets of "syrup" which is nothing but corn syrup. On top of everything they started as a coffee house and no one was blown away by the house coffee. I hate to come off sounding harsh but making good breakfast food just isn't that complicated. I don't see us coming back...
