1st visit to Kelly's on 66 was for a Friday night dinner. The owner greeted us at the door and was a very pleasant greeting and a promise of being seated quickly in me crowded standing room only converted gas station diner. He was right and we were seated in a comfortable booth very quickly. While waiting we had great fun looking at all the unique decorations on the walls and around the restaurant. The menu is four pages of different items. Primarily I talian based with lots of choices to mix and combine. Cannot over emphasize how good our pizza and roasted red pepper soup was. You will not be disappointed with anything you order here. Portion sizes are amazing. Pizza toppings are piled high. Pizza crust is perfectly done and will not fold or fall apart in your hand. Regard lus of how much meat you get on your pizza it will never be greasy or oily. Huge plus. Great job Kelly. Cannot say enough good about Kelly's on 66. Read the reviews. Everyone loves this place. Put it on your short list. Oh, and by the way, Kelly, the kids play room off the main dinning area that is decorated as a kid size diner with serving counter and...
Read moreCanNOT say enough good things about this place!! We came here because roads were too bad to get to Bloomington, and what an AWESOME thing to chance by this place!! Its super clean, comfortable, cozy, Very family friendly. The owner, Kelly, came out and talked to us about how we liked it and told us what his vision was for this place. He's definitely got his dreams spot on for what it is. The server, Judy, was so amazing, extremely friendly and personable, super funny just like you're at a family member's house for dinner. The food was INCREDIBLE!! Smothered chicken dinner and smothered chicken sandwich with fries. The homemade bread is to die for, and the flavors are bursting without being overpowering. Beautiful to look at and delivious to taste!! The cook...
Read moreI stopped by Uncle Vait's Pizza in Lexington for their Meatloaf Special. The meatloaf with brown gravy had great flavor, and was some of the best I've had in a restaurant. I'm definitely looking forward to having it again soon.
The garlic bread was a good, sweet Italian bread. Something else I loved was that instead of getting a side of fries or coleslaw, I was able to choose a side of spaghetti with meat sauce! I also enjoyed the house-made ranch dressing. Courtney was a great server.
I also got 2 pizzas to go. One was a thin crust taco pizza for my wife, with toppings on the side (toppings not pictured). The other was a deep dish pizza. Both pizzas were good.
And for all this food, the price before tip was around $32, I...
