idk where the hype is cause the customer service experience tarnished the food. the restaurant was nicely designed, drink station stocked, and tables looked clean but the floor already has black grime coating the floor yet they’ve been open for 1 or 2 months? gross but something i can look past.
i work down the street and saw how long they were holding trainings before opening but somehow the employees still had no idea what they were doing. me and some coworkers stopped in before 7am this past Saturday. there were a handful of cars in the drive thru but empty inside. we had 3 separate orders so we ordered inside on the kiosk which was easy to use.
after placing our orders we turned around to wait and there was another employee ordering for themselves before leaving. they spent quite a few minutes ordering while we attempted to get drinks from the soda fountain which proceeded to spray in 3 different directions straight out. having worked in the food industry before, i knew nozzles had been removed to be clean. as a business that’s 24hrs, it would be smart to put a temporary sign up so that customers don’t soak themselves. (some people would be less understanding and flip) both the employee ordering and the employee taking their order were in clear view of us being sprayed by the machine and didn’t react.
after maybe 5 min the employee finished their order and went to have a phone conversation while my coworkers and i continued to wait. about 10 min went by and we receive nothing, not even the coffees me and another coworker ordered. no employees came to the counter so we couldn’t ask about the soda fountain.
when a worker did come to the counter with a bag, they gave it to the employee who had ordered her food 5 min AFTER ours were placed and it was a large bag meanwhile our order were all one meal orders. very unprofessional to service employees before customers but also to bypass anyone’s order period. the employee grabbed her food and a cup and proceeded to get a drink from the soda fountain while the employee who handed her the food didn’t say anything or even look at us and immediately walked away so we couldn’t ask about the fountain. the other employee got sprayed by the fountain and then turned around TO COMPLAIN TO US THAT WE DIDN’T TELL HER IT WAS SPRAYING. i wish i got her name but she was a younger white woman maybe teen-aged. average build and blonde, straight, med/long hair pulled in a pony. SHE JUST GOT OFF so idk why she didn’t know the machine was being cleaned. also, WE DON’T WORK HERE and we just watched her get a whole bunch of food before us when our orders were placed 5 min before hers. when she went behind the counter to call her coworker he didn’t know why the nozzles were removed either. does no one know what’s happening at their own job?
about 10 more min later, we finally were brought our food. all the food was right but we didn’t get any of the sauces we were prompted to choose on the kiosk, didn’t get our coffees, and after replacing the fountain nozzles the soda tasted so watered down.
when we asked the employee about our coffees he acted like he had no idea what we were talking about and asked which coffees we got, we told him, and when we got them i didn’t have the extra caramel i paid for and my coworker didn’t get the extra sweet cream she PAID for. idk if they lost the tickets or just didn’t care to pay attention but the service was laughably horrible.
i’ve never had an experience with such inconsiderate and dumb staff. the food ended up being pretty darn good which is why i gave 2 instead of 1 star but the employees tarnished everything about it. we waited almost 30 min for 3 basic ass orders meanwhile a fellow employee got a huge order in 10 min.
also, a man came in to use the bathroom while we were waiting and when he saw us he immediately asked how long we were waiting. it had only been about 10 min at the time and he huffed and said he had been waiting in the drive...
Read moreLike many Lexingtonians we've been watching the Whataburger go up for a while. We decided to go for dinner Friday night and obviously it was packed! You have to know that when a restaurant like Whataburger opens people in Lexington go crazy! Now, there is clearly a design flaw in the traffic flow. The only way to enter the parking lot for dine in is from South Lake to turn right into the parking lot. The back entrance off Industrial ends up being only for Drive Thru you can't get by the drive thru traffic. Once we were able to park, they were holding people outside in a line to not overcrowd the dinning room. We waited in line less time that we thought. My family has eaten at Whataburger in FL, AR, and TX. So we were familiar with the menu. There was some confusion at the counter on who was taking orders then a young lady came up to take our order. You could tell she was a little flustered, however we had some customizations to our order and after a few times through it and double checking it we got it correct. We found a seat no problem, they did forget to hand us our cups so I ended up getting them myself. After no less then 2-3 minutes our food came out and everything in our order was correct, except forgetting our milkshakes. All the food was prepared well burgers were hot, fries were hot, now I like my fries really crispy, they were a little under that, not wrong, just not crispy. Several managers and Albert Ochoa came around to see if there was anything they could do or fix for us. I appreciated that a lot. Overall our experience was really good and I left stuffed! The lines will settle some, service will get faster and let's hope the food stays at the quality...
Read moreI have never had Whataburger but this new one just opened up and so when I got off work last night I decided to swing by and get a late dinner for myself and my son and his fiance (who had also never had Whataburger). I got there at 9:46 and there were 2 drive through lines. I got in the line that only had one car ahead of me. BIG mistake apparently. The other line moved 10 cars through before they even took the order for the guy in front of me. EIGHT MINUTES later it was finally my turn to place my order but some joker with short man syndrome who thinks it's cool to have a muffler so loud the whole of SC can hear him coming, was in the next lane over so they couldn't hear what I wanted despite me shouting. So then I had to sit there and wait for him to move along. He finally leaves and I placed my order at 9:56... TEN minutes after I got in the drive through line. I ordered our food and I asked for my bacon burger plain. When I finally got our food at 10:10... TWENTY-FOUR minutes after getting there the food was cold and my burger that was supposed to be plain had mustard on it. I also ordered a rootbeer and the carbonation to soda ratio was WAY off so I couldn't even drink my beverage. Zero out of ten would not recommend based on...
