If you can only handle guerro (white people) Mexican food, you’ll love this place. If you feel like Mexican tonight but have little ones, bring them here. It is textbook texmex, but at least they warn you. The queso is velveta and rotel. I got the chicken poblano burrito: dry unseasoned chicken and unroasted poblanos that someone chopped into small squares, flame-charred half black skins and dumped on top of the whitest burrito I’ve ever seen… possibly whiter than out of the grocery store package. Fire-roasted means roasted in juices after griddle charring the skin, not burning the corners until they are hard. The amount of times I heard the salt and pepper grinders at people’s tables told me everything I needed to know. But the raspberry cheesecake chimis for dessert were wonderful. Crispy and delicious. The staff was super busy and efficient and friendly, and the place seemed clean except for the occasional funk that I caught radiating from the floor. Just under the booth up by the wall. It needs bleach more consistently. KITCHEN MANAGERS: teach your prep cook and sous chef platers how to put plastic wrap on the surface of the actual guacamole in the container to keep the browns away, plus a little more lemon in the recipe. My guac was brown and slimy like no one learned how to stir and cover it each time. I know I’m not the only patron that judges a Mexican restaurant on the quality of the guac. Scrape the brown each time and give me the second layer, if you must. I know it’s there’s because there was one beautifully bright green avocado chunk in the middle of my small $2 bowl of sadness. Very smart of my server to spoon some pico on top of the sadness to hide the brown at first glance. And STOP filling in every bit of plate space with a bunch of unwashed shredded lettuce. One thing that was authentic Mexican: Don’t...
Read moreTumbleweed used to be a favorite place for our family to eat. But our last several experiences at tumbleweed had been aweful. So my husband and kids ask to eat here tonight, I really didn’t want to but I told myself this time would be better. So we arrived at about 8:50, waited 20 min to even see a waitress. When she finally came to our table the kids said we were ready to order. The waitress refused to take our order said there were other people ahead of us. So we had to wait. When she came back she didn’t even have our drinks. She took our order after we had to repeat it several times. 15 min later we got drinks and chips and salsa. After over an hour waiting our food finally came. And not only was the order wrong but we were given crusty beans that had hardened in the pan from setting out, and a steak taco with 2 strips of steak on it. We also got black beans that tasted sour like they were no good. We then had to ask 4 times to get our dipping sauces and our waitress never came back after taking our order. The hostess served us and brought our food. Overall the experience was terrible again. I don’t suggest anyone eat here. Our family definitely won’t be back. I’m not for sure what happened to tumbleweed but it is not worth the hours wasted or the money spent. $13 for four strips of steak on a tortilla. If I could give 0 stars I would. It’s sad to see what used to be a great place to eat go...
Read moreWorst experience ever. Where do I even begin? First we had to sit at a long table because we had 6 people so 2 tables were put together. The waitress stayed at one end of the table to take our orders and I told her several time I couldn't hear her. Instead of coming over to me where I could hear better (we were sat under a speaker with loud music playing) she just kept repeating herself and wouldn't speak up. Then after our orders were taken, it took 45 min for the food come! My husband was never offered a refill on his coffee and my dad had to ask where his coffee was because she took it for a refill and never came back. The dining area wasn't even half full. My kids each got mac n cheese. My daughter refused to ear it, only the fries that came with it. Afterwards I tasted it and realized that it was nasty and that's why she didn't eat. My son only at the fries as well. My husband got the ribs and the meat had a terrible aftertaste. My mom ordered a small salad and it was mostly core, very little edible lettuce. My dad got the courage try fried steak or chicken, not sure which. He took a couple bites and said it was gross and his mashed potatoes was cold. After complaining about my dads dinner, we were still charged for it. $68 later and we all left disappointed and hungry. ...
