We were there for a private event. Really unique location, on the river, just off 35E about 5 miles from downtown St Paul. This is a members only club but the yearly dues seemed very reasonable. I would recommend they put some work into their website because it doesn't represent the property well. It's much nicer and there are more amenities than listed. Food: Potstickers and Crab Cakes were pretty good considering they were served banquet style. The Thai peanut sauce was some of the best I've ever had. The hamburger sliders were very dry which was unfortunate because you could tell the beef was of good quality and so were the buns. The condiments were well presented and appropriate. Drinks were well made and the server was warm, welcoming and efficient. I do recommend that they have someone look at their beer and wine list though. It was equivalent to a fast casual restaurant. Great location, friendly staff and for buffet style food service it was...
Read moreThis place tries its absolute hardest to scream (old money and high-end). However, like North Oaks, it may have once been the place to be, but now a days is kinda dilapidated and unkempt in appearance. The service and professionalism are still their, it's just the property, and amenities haven't kept pace over time.
The pool needs to be replastered desperately, and the surrounding patio needs to be torn up and redone because it's in disrepair.
The interior of the clubhouse, if you look past the ombiance, is just thousands of tiny fixes as opposed to hiring a contractor to come in redo something right the first time. Outlets are cracked/broken, trim hangs off walls, ceiling is uneven, so many little things are noticed once you look a little closer.
It honestly feels like whoever is the owner of the club decided to bank more than they invested in the property itself over a few decades. It's Haydays are gone, and it shows...
Read moreThe Pool and Yacht Club is over-the-top in food, service, management, and view of the Mississippi River. We were there with a large group. Our server, Beth (I think her name was Beth or Kris ( shorter dark hair) also Bus Boy Bill Schmit) were impressive. Pleasant, patient, kind, and professional. They were on their game. It is not an easy task serving a group of 15 people. They both did such a great job of working with us. Thank you. The night was very special. The food was excellent. Walleye is the best! Yum. Excellent onion rings. Strawberry salad is excellent too. Fabulous and tasty after dinner Grasshopper drinks. You can tell the food does not come out of a bag or freezer box. It is made on site. Maureen the manager is always so hospitable and accommodating. She makes one feel like they are right at home, and first class. The Pool and Yacht Club is a top- rate...
