Wawa — Restaurant in Limerick Township

My complaint is with the new PoS system. It is not working properly and the employees are not properly trained or knowledgeable about it. When I utilized my phone to pay, my phone registered that $4.36 (out of 11.68) was charged but the system stated decline. I then utilized a different card and finished the transaction. Upon getting home I found that I had been charged twice on both my debit card that’s attached through Apple/mobile Pay and my credit card. Calling the store and informing them, they had me call customer care who stated I needed to call my financial institution to dispute the charge.

If I were in their position of rolling out a new PoS (and I have been) and customers were having issues I would have offered to send out a gift card for the amount for their trouble of having to call around and wait on hold for a resolution.

Granted, $11 or even $22 doesn’t break the bank but that isn’t the point. The cashier didn’t know if the system worked, had no idea what it meant when my phone showed a successful charge of $4.36, and I’ve now wasted 30 minutes calling the store and then customer care only to be told to take it up with my bank. Wawa is a great chain of gas station & convenience store. We really like their made-to-order food section as we ordered 13 hoagies for our recent Family & Friends get-together.

It's like Subway, but here you will order food thru one of three computer terminals. Hold on, because it will take you thru step by step, item by item: let's say if you're ordering a hoagie: type of bread, toasted or not, length/size, meat, cheese, sauces, condiments, any additional item Salt & pepper, oregano, etc.

Then, you'll pay at the cashier and wait until they're all done trusting everything is made to your specifications. Another option is to order to get their hoagie box that is designed to feed 10 people which we decided not to do this time. There are 20 4-in pieces with lettuce and tomato. You can get up to five condiments/sauces. There are three choices of preset hoagie combinations for $49.99. Oh yeah, those hoagies were very good.

At this location, the manager was great. When we spoke with her a few days before the event, she told us she'd make sure they'll have fresh bread ready for our party. Great...

I always have a good experience at Wawa stores. My one concern is the bathrooms don't appear to receive the consistent attention for overall cleanliness I see at other similar stores (i.e. Sheetz bathrooms are always clean.). I've been in multiple Wawa stores in PA & NJ and what appears to be inattention to bathrooms is across multiple stores. I realize it takes employees to keep bathrooms clean., etc., and these are challenging times to find folks who want to and are able to work. But, Sheetz appears to have it figured out because their in store bathrooms...
