Took my mom out for lunch and had a very interesting experience. Table of 4, my mother, stepfather, son and myself. We were seat away from all of the other guests for some reason (my son is very well behaved so it wasnt that. My stepfather does have sleeve tattoos. So maybe the combination of my 6 year old and my biker looking stepfather we were prejudged.) The waitress didn't ask how we were doing or welcome us to the restaurant. We were never asked if we wanted drinks (the entire time), we were only offered water. We were never given fried wontons while we decided what we wanted to eat even though everyone else in the restaurant was munching away on them. Even when we mentioned it later they still were not brought out. Immediately after seating us the waitress began asking us if we were ready to order, even when we said no she just stood there waiting for us to order. Feeling rushed everyone at the table ordered. The boneless spareribs were giant chunks of meat that tasted like the were left in the walk in refrigerator uncovered for way too long, the sauce in them tasted great but the mean had a funky off putting taste. The fried rice was just brown rice with the same rancid pork inside of it, no veggies or egg to be found. After we were done esting I snuck away from the table to pay (my mom lives up here and I was visiting her. I wanted to treat her to lunch and I knew if I wasnt fast enough she would pay for it.) I had to stand awkwardly next to our waitress for about 5 minutes as she finished her conversation with another employee. She saw me when I walked up and the conversation had nothing to do with work. When she finally decided she had time for me it seemed like I was being a major inconvenience in her life asking to pay for the check, she didn't know how to get it and told me she would bring it to my table. She brought the check and stood over me until I was finished filling out her tip. I wasn't planning on leaving her a 20% tip but because of her hovering I felt pressured into doing so. The funny thing is after she received her tip all of a sudden she was at out table every couple of minutes asking if we wanted anything else or if we would like drinks... (day late dollar short). Its a shame that this is the only option for chinese food in the area as I do enjoy it but I will never return to this place again. I feel like anyone giving this place good reviews has just never had good chinese. If I could give 0 stars I would. Spent $60 on lunch and I've had better experiences in McDonalds drive...
Read moreWing Wah a good family restaurant. It is Chinese food, although they do have some Hawaiian choices. All of the restaurant specials are exceptional; like the house drink is very, very good & beautiful with the 2 tone color (pictured), the house rice (pork, chicken, shrimp & beef with veggies. It's basically like a loaded fried rice.). Their pan fried dumplings are to die for (pictured). The general tsous chicken is really good. The Mandarin noodles are great; a curry dish with beef chicken pork and shrimp with thin rice noodles. The salt & pepper chicken was shockingly good. Lo mein is exceptional. The egg rolls are very good. The service was exceptional. Very friendly & knowledgeable staff. All & all a tremendous value for the money. I'd say definitely kid friendly. The decorum is good, it's clean but it's not like a new place, it's been there 40 years, so you can feel the comfortable vibe. They have a lot of seating, and a bar in the back, although we did not sit at the bar. It's a full bar. They have booths and tables. The menu has many choices. They have Peking, Kung Pao, Hunan for starters. The lighting is low, and relaxing. It feels private wherever you sit. We will make it a regular thing to come...
Read moreFirst mistake was going on a Sunday apparently, I paid twice as much for the exact same combo that is available during the weekdays... Big disappointment considering it was literally the same combo for exactly twice the price!!! The food was actually terrible and tasteless and I usually enjoy the food here, my waitress was slack to boot.. it seemed she was rushed n wanted to rush us and there was really only 2-3 other tables!! There was no condiments on the table and I forgot to ask for soy sauce, she saw I didn't care for my meal as I pushed the untouched meal to the end of the table so she avoided us and by the time she did come back by the soy sauce was no longer needed. She asked if we would like the bill avoiding looking at the untouched meal the whole time and not really giving me a chance to say it was not good!!! So it cost me 30$ for a combo plate a half order of veg lo mein and one egg roll... I won't be back for a long time!! I've eaten at this restaurant for over 25 years and the place has never got an update that I can think of always dark and always the same broken down seats...
