TlDR: Don't waste your time or money. They need to either fire their kitchen manager, or hire one because it's a disaster in service and quality. I don't know how this place stays open, let alone busy.
We were a group of 6 with a reservation (4 Peruvians and 2 married to Peruvians). We were seated promptly. The bar is fast at getting drinks out, and honestly I think more people would just leave if they didn't (you'll know why in a second).
There's an automatic tip, and I think there is a reason it's there (also will round back to this) .
This is a restaurant, not a bar. I had to yell to be heard because the music is absolutely blasted. Couldn't even hear the waiter when he did show up. By the end of the night my throat was sore.
Waiter disappeared for long periods of time..never told us about the menu...never asked about our meals, forgot my drink, took probably 30 minutes before he even took an order for food. Just wasn't attentive in the least.
Our table was served one plate at a time. And I kid you not, there was at least an hour between the first person being served, and the final person. By time I was served 4th, the first person was well and done. Ridiculous. We were there 2 hours, but not because we were lollygagging. It took them that long to finally serve us all.
I have never seen a place so full of bored faces waiting on food. I think if the bar wasn't there, patience would run out even faster and people would leave. I was ready to walk out when two people got served and the rest of us sat for 30 mins before another plate finally came out.
The food..is just not good..at all, especially for what you pay. Its ALL presentation.
I got the Bistek a lo pobre..and my egg was something out of mcdonalds. Wasn't even a fried egg..it was baked in some sort of ramekin, complete with the wavy sides, and the yolk was entirely cooked through...no mixing that with the rice. The hotdogs they buy are so salty that idk how a kid would eat the salchipapa from the kids menu without their blood pressure skyrocketing. The steak was overcooked and tough. Flavor of it was not good. Ate a few bites and got the rest to go to feed to my dog (for $30!)
We got the criollo appetizer. The tequenos were supposed to be aji de gallina but were Lomo saltado. The chicharron had no flavor. I didn't try any of the other things.
Another in the group got the Lomo saltado with ribeye. They list various beef cuts you can choose from, but it legitimately just lists meats. So, you'd expect the only difference between that and the "base" normal one would be the type of meat used. Nope. They didn't even cut it thin, these were massive chunks of beef that they then proceeded to cook it to shoe leather consistency. When we mentioned it to the waiter he said that's how it's cut. If the slice type is going to be different..that needs to be mentioned. They also served hers with cherry tomatoes (???) while someone else at the table ordered a Lomo saltado with the base meat and got a normal tomato with the thinly sliced meat. They ended up also taking theirs to give to their dog as well.
Everyone at the table said the same thing - the ceviche was good but the meals weren't amazing or good. The service was abysmal and the final guy was so hungry by time he got his plate that anything would've tasted good.
I ended up going home and having something to eat. Never...again.
Which brings me to the auto gratuity. The service at this place, including what's coming out of the kitchen, is so bad that I feel like if they didn't do it, no one would get tipped. I was joking to my table that they're lucky we even paid for the meals it was that bad. Great for our...
Read moreI’m no going to make a comment over food because I didn’t stay unfortunately, but let me start, somebody recommended this place so I told my friend then from long branch nj about 40 minutes driving, we headed to this place this past Saturday, first impression place was nice and clean, staff honestly I didn’t like the way waiter treat us, im going out every days either for lunch or dinner and never had a waiter like the one I had here, He wasn’t friendly with us at all, his attitude was totally different with an other table who walk in after us, first he seated us and left with out telling us about the menu, code scanning, etc, after a few minutes, he come back to the table and he didn’t said anything and don’t offered anything, like a drink water or nothing outs, but he put on the table some canchita and green hot sauce, and left, on his way back from an other table I stop him and ask about the menu, he didn’t answer us properly but pointing to the little sign on the table, we assumed to scanning the codes, we finally pulled up the menus in our cellphone and we start checking the menu, unfortunately there was no one around to ask a question or to explain us anything about anything, after around 12 minutes the waiter being over a near table chatting having fun and taking pictures with those ppl, he come over and ask if we want something to drink, we said yes pleas my friend ask for margarita and I ask for a pisco sour both of them had a nice presentation (not a god drink at all), and the drinks were served in a wrong glass (wish is not really a concern), but for the price at last the drinks should be in the right glasses, that was all, we decided to leave the place, we ask an other nice server with Spain accent to bring our bill, our surprise was the price, we was totally disappointed, really overpriced the new waiter with the Spanish accent, was asking us over and over why we decided to leave, we didn’t answer, if he were our waiter since the beginning of the story we probably stayed after all, but everything was over priced for the quality of service, by the way the drinks didn’t worth the prices, 20 minutes later, not even water and unfortunately not...

8/7/25-Stancia drew me back again – had to have those oysters and classic ceviche! 🤤 The presentation? Amazing! But the FRESHNESS and those authentic Peruvian FLAVORS? Unmatched anywhere! Seriously, it’s a must. Total CevicheGasm! 💥 And their drinks? A MUST! Had a lychee martini and a passion fruit martini... honestly, to die for! 🍸🍸 Stancia never disappoints. Perfection on a plate (and in a glass)!
8/13/25 Move over, everything else – Stancia Restaurant is my new culinary addiction! My visits always start with their phenomenal Oysters a la Chalaca 🦪 and refreshing Ceviche – non-negotiable! I’ve happily expanded my must-order list to include their fantastic trio of ceviches; the Concha Negra, in particular, is divine... truly to die for. Their Causas are another winner. And do not, I repeat, DO NOT skip dessert: Lucuma Ice Cream atop their warm Bread Pudding is the ultimate, blissful happy ending. Highly, highly recommended! #stancia #peruviancuisine #peruvianfood #cevichegasm

An Unforgettable Seafood Experience! If you haven't been to Stancia yet, you are missing out! This is, without a doubt, the best and freshest seafood I have ever had. The corvina ceviche was perfectly marinated, and my favorite, the oysters a la chalaca, were absolutely to die for. Every dish was presented beautifully on clean, elegant platters. Combine that with the restaurant's charming and cute decor, and you have a perfect dining experience. I can't recommend it...
