My family has been going to this place since I was a kid. Always consistently good food and wonderful service. Nothing has changed about that. Unfortunately, I took my mother, who had a stroke a little over a year ago and is now on a walker and trying to regain strength. There is all sorts of open parking right in front of the door, which is great. However, there is no ramp, and she had great difficulty stepping up out of the parking lot toward the entrance. Not a big deal, we went in and sat at a table near the front door, however before we left she needed to use the restroom which is at the complete other end of the building and very difficult to get into. We literally had three children and two adults sweetly holding the swinging doors open for us and opening the bathroom door so we could maneuver in around the doors, both entering and exiting. She got quite a lot of attention. Thankfully, that didn't embarrass her... She then had to walk all the way back to the front to get to the door and had to sit down and rest. I went out to figure out the ramp situation and found that the only handicap parking spaces and ramp are at the far end of the building, the length of the building. I guess if we had used a wheelchair, we could have pushed her that distance, but she doesn't get stronger using a wheelchair and that was our goal. I'm shocked that they have been in business as long as they have and haven't put handicap spaces and a ramp right in front of their door where they already have parking spaces. As I said, we've been going to this place since I was a kid, but never with anyone who was weak and using a walker, so I never expected this. The food is still amazing and the service is still amazing. Unfortunately I can't take my mom there again because it was just too much, and she confessed to me when she was in the car that she was really scared when she realized how far she had to go, fearing that she may fall. I sure hope they will do something about this, if not immediately, in the very near future. There were two other elderly couples there witnessing this and both said to us how crazy it was that this was the situation and that they had difficulty with it as well. This is a great establishment for people of all ages. It needs to be easier for...
Read moreI was excited to find this BBQ restaurant open on a Monday and got the sliced brisket sandwich to go along with an order or fries. The price was fair. The meat was fairly dry and flavorless. There is no sign of any smoking of meats going on anywhere, and certainly not in the meat. It was like it had been cooked in an oven, uncovered. It could have been salvaged somewhat with sauce, which they are proud enough to bottle and sell. Unfortunately, there was little on the sandwich and none included or offered. The serving òf french fries was HUGE. Unfortunately, there wasn't a single grain of salt on them, and nò ketchup included or offered. This was my second time here. A good local restaurant with plenty of history and atmosphere. Since there are no other BBQ places anywhere near, go enjoy it for what it is. It's just not worth going out of...
Read moreDelicious food and excellent service. It doesn’t get any better. If you are looking for a warm and cozy place to eat you must stop by. They have dine in as well as drive in. You will get the same service no matter what you choose. I always get the German sausage when I dine in. I must say that it gets better with time. It’s full of old world flavor and just about melts in your mouth. The sides are really good. You do get a lot for the money so be prepared for the portion size. I joke around that they are trying to kill me with food. After leaving the restaurant you will feel like you are in a food coma. Stop by and check them out. They have a big parking lot so parking bigger vehicles isn’t too...
