Pisces Cafe Boba & Tea — Restaurant in Lisle

It breaks my heart to even take off a star because I love Pisces Cafe as a business. I’ve been coming for 6 months and have never had an issue. Today, I walked in and ordered my usual order, which included an extra cup with additional toppings of tapioca and lychee jelly (no drink). This is for my 5 year old, who does not like the PC drinks but wants to feel included.

The young lady at the register had no issues ringing me up, but the employee helping her refused to give me the extra toppings because there is a “boba shortage”. She would not even make me a separate drink with boba on the side, because “cups cost money”.

Ultimately, she ended up running to the back to ask and ended up charging me an arbitrary amount ($2.50). Which, whatever, it really isn’t a big deal, and I’m happy to support the company. However, when I was waiting for my order I noticed that my whole order was wrong - size, sweetness, everything. I went back to correct it and the same employee made me PAY EXTRA for the change in size instead of just honoring their mistake. The whole experience, in my opinion, is terrible customer service. If PC wants to keep their customers, I hope they can take this review and provide some adequate training to their employees.

I want to support you, and I hope this is an isolated experience.

Update: I wrote this review as I was waiting for my drinks. They took 20 minutes to make with orders called ahead of mine. When I got them, the drinks were still wrong and needed to be corrected. I’m pretty disappointed and saddened honestly. This is the worst customer service I have...

The almond milk tea and the taro milk tea are delicious! And the shop employees were very helpful and friendly. I’m giving four stars because the online ordering is a little confusing. The milk teas say “comes with boba. Enjoy hot or iced. First topping is free!” I assumed that “comes with boba” means tapioca boba as that’s standard. And the “first topping free” refers to popping boba or jelly. I ordered almond milk tea with kiwi popping and another drink.

When I got the drinks they didn’t have any tapioca boba in them. The employee helped me out and gave me the tapioca but the website needs to be reworded. If the first topping refers to the tapioca boba and not the other actual toppings, then the website should say that so people know to select “tapioca” as the free topping.

Again, the employees were very nice and understanding about the mistake but whoever makes the website should change the descriptions for the milk teas to stop this from happening again. I will be...

I ordered a fruit mango and pineapple smoothie online for the first time. Honestly only came because joyyee was closed. When I went to pick it up the smoothie looked creamy and I asked the workers what all they put in it. They told me they put a non dairy powder that makes it creamy. I asked if I could have it without because it was my first time ordering and it does not say online. They told me that I would have to pay again even though I hadn’t even drunk the item or left the store. I threw it away and left because you should disclose everything online not just say it’s fruit like other places. They have a chalkboard written with the information but it’s not online. If it was good I planned on coming back but now I won’t be at all because I would never pay 13 dollars for a smoothie literally ever. The workers were nice but seemed young. Maybe don’t have authority or experience to just remake a drink especially if it’s someone’s first time...
