Subway — Restaurant in Naperville

4/17/24 My favorite Subway (See my 3/5/24 review.) has been remodeled, and the “new” digs are beautiful. The same efficient and friendly service, great food, and welcoming atmosphere prevail, but now all that is great about this Subway has been enhanced by “new” surroundings. It’s not that the store was dumpy before remodeling; it’s just that the new look really brings out the inherent goodness of this operation.

Congratulations to the entire crew at the Chicago Avenue Subway in Naperville. The remodel was money well spent. Keep up the good work and I and my weekly lunch buddy, along with my wife and my family, look forward to many great years of friendship and great food from our friends at this Subway.

Subway is a wonderful chain…the sandwiches are good, the prices are reasonable, and the orders are filled quickly. None of Subway’s competitors can match it for value. One of the few drawbacks of Subway is its inconsistency; a few stores are fair, most are good, but a few are outstanding. This Subway, in the strip mall on the southwest corner of Chicago Avenue and Naperville Road, is one of those OUTSTANDING Subways. The bread, along with the other ingredients, is consistently fresh. The staff is helpful, friendly, and remarkably efficient. The manager, a very congenial fellow who runs a tight but welcoming ship, is on hand every time we visit, making sure that things are done right and the customers are happy. We are always made to feel welcome at this Subway; we are greeted and treated like we are family. When my family and I are on road trips, we seek out Subways for their outstanding value. But this is the Subway I choose to patronize on at least a weekly basis when I am not on the road and have my choice of several Subways in my area. Those Subways are all good. Some are very good. The Chicago Ave., Naperville Subway made us two of the best Subway sandwiches we have ever had! I downloaded the SUBWAY® app for the first time ever; and it’s very user-friendly, and it gives you a very specific detailed list of ingredients and you can choose “less,” “regular,” or “more” for each.

Katherine and I used the app, designated all the ingredients and amounts, and paid for it all on the app. We got an app only deal of buy one and get one for 50% off. We also earned points and have already earned a two dollars off reward.

We live four blocks away from this location, and after we ordered, the app said our order would be ready essentially in about 12 minutes. After a four minute drive, the sandwiches were made when we arrived!

The two employees were polite and directed us to the mobile order pickup area.

The interior of this Subway is definitely more warm and inviting and modern and pleasant than your average Subway, for example, that may have been decorated many years ago. There are modern pendant lights, a nice Subway logo detail wall, and an amber type color scheme that is an update from the outdated, stale white and green decorated older Subways.

UNSANITARY LOCATION!!! BEWARE!! Went in to grab a sandwich and everything was going well until the lady that was checking people out was handling cash and credit cards without removing her glove and then after checking the previous customers out, would then return to grab ingredients out of the containers. Completely unacceptable at any time to handle money and food without either removing your glove first or grabbing new gloves. I said something to the woman when she tried to grab my ingredients and she looked surprised like it wasn’t acceptable. This is basic food sanitation practices which tells me all I need to know about what happens when customers are not present. First time visiting this subway and will...
