Sonora’s Mexican restaurant — Restaurant in Litchfield

In the small town of Litchfield, MN, Sonora's is a gem of a find for Mexican food. I have not been disappointed with anything I have ordered. Our party of for ordered the Sonora Burrito (2), Steak burrito supreme, and a shrimp burrito. The dishes came with rice and beans, guac, and pico. The food portions are large and at the end of the meal, all plates were wiped clean. I make it a habit to stop in every time I am in town. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the table was sticky even after it was wiped down. But if you order pitchers of margaritas, you will understand why the tables were so sticky. In the end, I highly recommend that you pay Sonora's a visit for some great food but check the operating hours since they close in between...

I stopped in around 6:30pm Thursday February 13, 2025. Entering in the main entrance, the sign says wait to be seated. After around 10 minutes later no one ever seated me so I checked at the bar and asked if someone could seat me, the response from the person drawing beer said someone will when we get to you. That was that, wrong answer and poor customer service. I do not live in Hutchinson and can’t believe this happens all the time. The people I talked with around town said the food is good, but that means you needed to be seated. My experience was not good so I left not knowing if and when I would be seated and went to I another establishment...

On 12/1/17 I ate at this restaurant and I had a tamale plate. It Was the worst food ever, only saving grace was the margarita but even that wasn’t very good. I had hard tamales that I had to cut with a knife and the chips were cooked in rancid oil and the rice had hard as rock peas in it.

I did tell them and they did take my meal off of the bill however I find that hard to do. I hate to complain but sometimes you just have to.
