This started in March when we booked our room. We called the location about our needs and questions. 1 queen bed room with a couch or 2 queen beds. Asked about pool & Hot Tub, and Continental breakfast. All were told yes to what we were requesting. Fast forward to Friday July 12th we travel 3 1/2 hours for our family reunion. We attempt to check in with our small dog and ask about the room again. Now i am told it has one queen bed and no couch. Now that becomes the issue as I reserved what i reserved because needing a spot for my mom to sleep. We find out that there is a another room available because some one was evicted from the room for smoking. It did smell like smoke. So my mom agreed it would be ok. The manager turned the AC on and did the transaction for my mother. We went to dinner and came back. Now that the Ac in her room was on the smoke smell was gone but now the rooms smelled like wet moldy animal pee. It was so bad we went to the front desk and demanded a new room. My mom was switched to a new room and that was now the 2 queen bed room and we couldn't change ours. We spent the night because we had no other options to make a change because of distance and Water Cade days. Now to issues with the rooms. There was dust dirt cob webs filthy glass and fixtures, no base boards and stains along the floor. The Tub was stained and all the vanity's and dresser's were marred and chunks missing from them. The microwave was filthy and gouges in the walls. I get you get what you pay for but this is a hotel that needs to not be open. There was no continental breakfast as promised. No Hot tub as asked about. The guy behind the desk said it went down 2 weeks ago and from every review it has been years. We came back from our reunion and had made up our mind not to stay the last night and forge forward and drive home and sleep in our own beds. I would not ever stay there again as the property is in such poor cleaning and upkeep that i wouldn't stay if it is the last hotel on earth. There is a very sketchy looking customer base as it is so they can keep the rooms booked. I went under the Secretary of State business search and looked the name up and The Knights INN shows inactive. I'm not sure they are even licensed to be open. Very very dissatisfied and would like all my and my moms money returned. If my review could reflect a negative number it...
Read moreI am not sure how this hotel has so many good reviews. I am no stranger to low end and cheap hotels. Due to my work I am forced to stay in them 1 or 2 nights every week. Over the last 4 years I have had hundreds of hotel stays at Super 8, Days Inn, Knights Inn, and Baymont Inn. This is the first time I have felt the need to write a review. Here is a list of this issues with my stay:
The room was visibly dirty. Most surfaces had at least some dirt or grime. The edges of the carpet had thick dust and hair piled up by the baseboard. There were balls of dust hanging from the corners of the ceiling.
The bed was beyond uncomfortable. Sometimes with a cheap mattress you can feel the springs. With this mattress I struggled to feel anything other than springs. I was forced to change my sleeping position every 30-40 minutes because the springs made my body sore. Sleeping on this mattress was similar to sleeping on the ground in past camping trips. In addition to the poor mattress, the bed sheets were stained and coarse.
The walls are paper thin. Even though there were only 3 others guests, I ended up in a room next to a couple. I heard every sound they made. I am not sure why, and I am not sure how, but they had loud sex from around 2:00am to 6:00am. The sounds coming through the wall really made me wonder about the numerous mystery stains on the bed sheets. Needless to say I did not get much sleep. The sleep I did get was plagued with the sexual vocalizations of a complete stranger.
In addition to the main three complaints listed above, there were numerous smaller issues. While these issues are not uncommon for a lower end hotel, it is impressive that this hotel managed to feature so many of these issues. The internet was horribly slow, the in room heat hardly worked, there was a very noticeable draft from the window, pets were allowed and were quite loud all night, and there was no beside lamp or alarm clock.
For $50 a night you may be tempted to stay here. I would advise...
Read moreI had stayed here eight years ago and the place was just needing updated but it was clean. I booked this place again for this year and when I pulled in I knew it wasn’t going to be good because the landscaping was bad and weeds are growing in the parking lot. The little Indian man who now owns the hotel was working and checked us in to our room. The room smelled of cigarettes badly. I went and asked him if he had another room for us, which he did. He was very helpful. The room was a room where he takes a break and doesn’t rent out much. I was looking for the chalk line on the floor… this room was dirty and smelly. The bathroom light fixture was just a bulb hanging from a rusty bass. The toilet had brown stains underneath the seat. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was taped to the ceiling tile. The cars in the parking lot look like a demolition derby had just gone on and I swear I saw a drug deal. There were needles and caps from the needles in the parking lot. I wouldn’t stay here ever again. We left three nights early (it was late when we got in for that 1 night) and got a room in Hutchinson....
