The Common's Lunch — Restaurant in Little Compton

So normally I don't post reviews but this seemed necessary. Out on a day trip in RI and decided to order food via phonecall for pickup. The lady said about 10 minutes. I showed up and another gentlemen was ordering in front of me at the window. So when he was done I proceeded and told the lady what I ordered and she began to grab my food. Well I had to use the atm inside which is no big deal. The worst part about all of this is the lady came up to me at the atm and said that they didn't have enough clams to do a clam strip and asked if I wanted a half of clam strip which was fine. So I finished with the atm and went to the front window to proceed with my order and she said it wasn't ready and that she will open the window to let me know. So I went back in my car and waited. While waiting in the car the gentlemen who was ordering before me went up to get his food, well 5 mins later he goes back to the window with the bag open and fumbled through saying that it wasn't his food and returned it to them and got his food. The lady never open the window to let me know it was ready so I sat there for another 10 minutes waiting and I finally said screw this and went back to the window to see what was going on. She opened the window and my bag of food was sitting there, she said it came to 34$ and change and I asked her if the guy returned this and she said yes but he never opened it or went through it which was a complete lie because he named off the food that was in the bag when he handed it back to her through the window. So after about 40 minutes of trying to get our food that was suppose to be ready in 10 mins we never got it. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE never attempting to eat at this...

The restaurant looks like it needs a deep cleaning with a cluttered and neglected feeling. The food is mediocre at best. Having eaten there several times over the past few years the quality has steadily deteriorated while the prices have risen to ridiculous levels. They have a near monopoly which allows them to get away with less than mediocre offerings at noteworthy prices. . The owners show an increasing disinterest is producing a quality product and the amount of business they do has clearly decreased over recent years resulting in what one would expect- a “for sale “ sign on the property. I ordered avocado toast with a over medium egg. The menu states it came with roasted tomatoes and sea salt. What came out of the kitchen was one very small piece of toast with a thin layer of avocado and chopped bits of tomato. The egg was way over cooked and it took was small. Sad thing is, I sent it back and ordered johnny cakes with egg, and that came out wrong too. They were very busy on a holiday weekend, but the service was very slow. She disappeared and someone else started waiting on us. When I say she disappeared, I don't mean she left. I could see her, she just never returned to our table.
