Kissui Sushi is a casual, neighborhood sushi place. We always get a warm reception when we walk in. It’s been around for many years. Nowadays it seems a bit quiet and slightly dated but we always enjoy getting a quick, reasonably priced dinner here. The rolls are fresh and I like their salad dressing, it has a great sesame flavor, I prefer it over the orangey ones that other Japanese restaurants serve. The miso soup is full of tofu and seaweed, they certainly don’t skimp on the goodies in the soup. The tempura is lightly fried and yummy.

Not your average sushi place. The fish is very fresh and you can tell just from looking at it. Even better when you take a bite. Great value. Loved the sushi lunch special - the miso soup is also excellent. As an NYC native, I’d say Kissui goes toe to toe with many great places I’ve eaten at. GF and I are both foodies and she is an absolute sushi fiend with very discerning standards. The fact that she was impressed tells me they are doing something right.

Small local store with extremely fresh sushi at reasonable pricing. The lady working there was very friendly and patient. They are currently only doing takeout and delivery orders.

Edit: former 5 star, now 2. Second order and review: Ordered at 6:15pm, estimated delivery by 7:05. Nothing. Call at 7:30. They clearly forgot our order. Told it would be 20 minutes. 8:15, food finally arrives. We were charged full price and no additional items were provided. That's fine, poor customer service, but fine. We start eating the sushi to find it was more than warm, bad after taste, and we stopped after a few pieces. Never ordering again after an all around terrible experience.

First order and review;: Now Grub Hub for delivery! Delivery was more than prompt at dinner rush (delivered in 30 minutes when the estimate was 60). Price is very right for good amount of sushi, especially if you do the California Dinner. Some sushi was warm on delivery, possibly from the placement of the Miso soup in the bag, but other than that great...

This has been our favorite Japanese place for many years. Fish is so fresh, and the food is guaranteed to come out delicious, and so very flavorful. This is a small, family owned business and we really appreciate them staying open for take out during the pandemic. When placing an order for pick up, I would just give them my number and ask them to call me when the food was ready. As an employer myself, I realize the great challenges small businesses have been facing with the labor force over the last couple of years, especially the restaurants. While before we would have an extra set of hands today you don’t have this luxury today. So thank you Kissui Sushi for serving our community for so many years. We greatly...

Despite growing up in Little Silver and passing Kissui for almost two decades, I recently decided to try it for the first time. While the interior is somewhat lackluster, the food itself was a treat. The clear soup and gyoza were incredible, and the sushi rolls were fresh and prepared well. Furthermore, the prices were reasonable, which is extremely refreshing during this administration. The restaurant was completely empty during dinner, though, which was somewhat sad to see. On the heels of the disappointing change of ownership at Little Szechuan "GoGo" (still cannot believe that is the name) - this may be my new standby for oriental cuisine in...
