I want to love this place. I really do. I have lived in the area for twenty years and this is our family’s go-to breakfast place. But I can say today was our last visit. Over the years, we have had dirty dishes, waiters putting their fingers inside our juice glasses, and other careless things that we chose to overlook. More recently I found a piece of plastic in my omelete and that’s not what upset us. I bit into it and it nearly cracked my tooth. What upset us was the managers reaction. I believe there are two managers and this is the one with dark hair. She was very non-chalant, unapologetic, said they’d order a replacement and did NOT offer to comp our meal. After some time we decided to give them another chance. The final straw is we went back and ordered an omelet. Neither my husband nor I have eaten meat for over 10 years. He asked for no bacon and to substitute it with mushrooms. He explicitly said- I don’t eat meat. Well, the food arrived. We proceeded to eat. My husband got a mouthful of omelet with bacon!! Again, the manger was rather unapologetic and very much downplayed this. Eating meat when it’s against your personal choice is very upsetting. This same manager even tried to put the blame on us by suggesting we didn’t ask, though the waiter confirmed we did. Believe me, when you’re vegetarian, you double triple and quadruple check those things as having animal’s meat against your will is quite upsetting. So, yes, we asked several times! Reading reviews I see this is not an isolated event. So if you’re vegan or vegetarian, BEWARE. I tried to like this place. We’ve given them many free passes over the years. But not only are they careless, when they do make a big mistake, they don’t care or go out of their way to make it right. Btw it seems the manager with the long blonde hair is quite good...
Read moreWe used to love going here regularly until the renovation was completed. The first time we went back after they reopened we sat outside on the patio. We got seated quickly but didnt get our orders in for a bit. There was a miscommunication between the hostess and wait staff as no wait staff was assigned the section we were in. Once a waitress took on our table everything went smoothly.
The second time we sat outside we were seated and our orders taken promptly. Then we waited over 40 minutes while we watched people seated after us receive their food. Our waitress did not come to check on us until we had finally decided to get up and leave. She told us she had checked on the food multiple times but didn't know when it would be ready. We decided to find breakfast elsewhere.
We gave them another try a few weeks later. We've never had that happen before so we figured it was a simple oversight and it would be fine if we went back. We got seated outside again, the hostess brought us menus and cups. Then we waited about 20 minutes and no one came to take our orders. We were passed by multiple servers and no one acknowledged us or asked if we had been helped. And once again people seated after us got their orders taken right away. It was like no one was working the portion of the patio we were at. We got frustrated and left. We called the hostess to let her know we had left and why, and she did apologize and said she'd let the manager know.
This used to be one of our favorite spots, but our dining experiences recently have been frustrating. Perhaps it will be fine if we just order for pickup, however we will not...
