Staying in Gettysburg while in from Europe and we’re looking for a place to grab a decent breakfast. The wife found Firehouse Grill on Google Maps and we headed out to find it. We initially drove past and missed it, then turned around to find it; doesn’t really stand out from all the normal stuff.
This place is a hidden gem in an area with a lot of small home style hearty food type of restaurants. The staff was absolutely fantastic, and the food was amazing! Wife loved her veggie omelet and pancakes and the scrapple, hash brown potatoes, and eggs I had were great. Not used to the size of slice of scrapple they serve, since I grew up eating small ones so I ordered and extra. I refused to let it go to waste and powered through it, but believe me when I say one is enough.
We’ve eaten at many places in this week we’ve been in the area and the Firehouse Grill has the best breakfast, hands down. Not surprised that the place was full of guests enjoying a great breakfast.
We will definitely eat at the Firehouse...
Read moreI love coming to Firehouse Grill. They always treat you like family when you walk through the door. There breakfast is amazing. I always come for The Everything Omelet, which has...well....everything! Lol! Packed full of bacon, sausage, ham, onions, mushrooms, broccoli, peppers and cheese (it also has tomatoes, but being allergic I always opt out) It also comes with your choice of toast and to my delight they have rye toast along side the standard white and wheat. And it comes with potatoes that you can get with or without onions. It is a big portion of food and I always leave with leftovers. Don't forget to take a look at the dessert case as they have homemade desserts that are amazing. They have a daily special for lunch daily and if you are lucky enough to find a day where shrimp salad or any of the pot pie is on special...
Read moreThis morning I ordered 2 scrambled eggs but I wanted to add onions and mushrooms, which I was willing to pay extra for. I have ordered this before without an issue. The waitress insisted that was an omelette for $6.95. I told her I didn't want an omelette, I wanted scrambled eggs, because I didn't want cheese, nor did I want the potatoes and bread that came with an omelette. She still insisted that it would be an omelette instead of scrambled eggs. What came out was a very flat extremely well done egg all folded up, way too brown and dryed out. I could not eat it and since the other two people were almost done by the time she checked on us, I asked her to just take it off the bill please. And then she proceeded to have an attitude like I had done something wrong. I literally never complain about food, but this was...
