This was our first time and will not be our last! We live in Frederick, MD and will happily travel to Littlestown for these macarons! The owner was so sweet and welcoming to us. Can't wait to come back and try even more flavors! The lemon was one of my favorites! Not overwhelming lemon flavor at all, perfectly balanced! The kids really loved the fruity pebble flavor! And my husband demolished the coconut, triple berry, and strawberry!

Love this little shop! Macarons are my all time favorite and she hits it out of the park with these. I’m always excited to see what new flavors are coming out. I just moved up to the area and have been so happy to support a small business like this and others in Littlestown.

Wow! I’ve wanted to stop here so many times but have never been lucky enough to pass by when it’s open. Somehow the planets aligned today. What a cute place, with the friendliest ladies. I finally got to pick out a box of really fun flavors, and my goodness… divine!! šŸ’•

There are two things this macaron shop claims which are on right par with their advertising:

ā€œNot your average macaronā€, and naming the business, ā€œSomething Sweetā€.

They are both correct. This is not your traditional French macaron, which are typically light, airy, and donned with a touch of delicate sweetness. These large cookies are incredibly dense, overpowered by an intense level of sugary sweetness that can only be compared to eating a spoonful of pure sugar by itself. It was hard to tell if there was actually any distinctive flavoring, as the sugar overpowered every other ingredient. These macarons are very ā€œAmericanizedā€, reinforcing the stereotype of desserts loaded with enough sugar to cause the sudden onset of type 2 diabetes. It is rare that I spit out my food, but I could not in good faith swallow such an abysmal creation. These macarons truly are an insult to the original cookie and all that it embodies. I cannot express my disgust and disappointment with these macarons enough, while also continuing to remain poised and respectful.

Sadly, after excitedly spending around $30 for a box, as I love macarons, I ended up throwing all of them away. My husband, nor my daughter (who loves sweets) could stomach more than a bite. If you come here and are expecting a real macaron and delicate little treat, leave. I strongly urge you to find an authentic macaron patisserie, before you are severely disappointed.

Despite my disdain for their unsavory macarons, the staff were very friendly and very wonderful people. I wholeheartedly wish the owners success with their business, however I cannot support them in...

This is such a wonderful little shop! The macarons are so delicious. I love to get one of each and then guess the flavors afterwards. Her flavors are spot on! My friends and I were impressed that with all the flavor packed in each one, they weren’t overly sweet. If you want to have an adventure on a Saturday morning, then come visit this macaron shop and see what all the fuss is about! There’s a reason people are lined up down the block to get in and she’s sold out by noon! It’s worth the effort! Afterwards, make a morning of it by swinging over to grab a coffee and savory scone at Gateau Monique, do a little shopping at the Bizzy Bee Warehouse to see what old, new, and repurposed treasures you can find. Then finally end with an olive oil tasting at Gettysburg Olive Oil Company and treat yourself to a unique flower arrangement at Butterfly Blooms. All of the owners are absolutely wonderful and equally contribute to the charm now found on the little square in...

Something Sweet is a true local treasure. Their macarons are more than just a treat—they're a labor of love, crafted with care and creativity. The delicate, crisp shells and rich, creamy fillings come together perfectly in every bite. Standout flavors like Old Bay Salted Caramel, OG Salted Caramel, Fuzzy Peach, and Hot Honey are both unique and comforting, each one made with top-notch ingredients and a thoughtful touch.

What makes Something Sweet special is not just the quality, but the heart behind it. Their macarons sell out every weekend. Whether you're a local or just passing through, stopping by for a box (or two) of these delicious treats feels like discovering something truly special. Something Sweet is a must-visit for anyone craving a sweet moment made with care...
