I am re-reviewing Bubbs' a month later as they've now had time to work out some of their business side issues. Still plan on it being busy on the weekends. However the bagels are worth the wait!
Edit: 11/15/2022
Promising, but disappointing new bagel shop in Livermore. Livermore has long lacked a good independent bagel shop, and Bubbs promises to fill that gap soon. However, there are still a number of kinks that they need to work out on their business side. Understandable for a new restaurant, but disappointing nonetheless.
After months of anticipation, I was excited to finally try their bagels on opening day. Knowing that they'd likely be slammed on a Saturday morning, I attempted to call-in an order around 8am. I was informed that they were unable to take call-in orders, but that it shouldn't be an issue as their line was short. Of course, by the time I showed up , roughly five minutes later, the line was 20 people deep. After waiting in line for 25 minutes, I was finally able to place an order. Unfortunately, they were out of most bagels - left with no flavors that I enjoy. I was told that it would be another 30 minutes before any new everything bagels were ready (they were out the entire time I was in line). So I ordered a salt bagel (their last one) for my partner and left.
The bagel and shmear were tasty and at a great price, which is why I still have high hopes for this place. Hopefully they'll start taking call-in orders soon and learn to manage their stock a bit better; they were out of everything bagels for at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the chance to try Bubbsā at their grand opening and I will definitely be back! I ordered the salt, sesame seed, and tomato basil with schmear and everything was delicious. In addition, I also ordered a drip coffee that was incredible. Itās rare to find a high quality drip coffee in any establishment but the roaster they are using is top notch and it was the best cup of coffee Iāve had outside of my own home in a long while. My 7 year old ordered a hot chocolate and she said it was delicious and she was so excited that she got to watch bagels being dropped into the boiler. Although there was a wait, which is to be expected at any grand opening, the place was buzzing with energy and everyone was so warm and friendly! Huge plus for offering vegan and gluten free options for those that need it.
Some of these other reviews are just silly šBubbsā has been open for a little over a month, of course thereās going to be kinks that need to be worked out, if you want Noahās - go to Noahās where you can get your cookie cutter experience from a large corporation with capital that has been in business for decades. This is a husband and wife owned shop, these are people that LIVE in the community they serve. Letās not be so quick to tear down a new small business because you want an uninspiring chain experience.
Keep up the good work Bubbsā team, I canāt wait...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBesides easy parking there is nothing redeeming about Bubbs Bagels. I went there today and tried 3 things, all were disappointing
For starters ordering was extremely slow even with a short line and then it took forever for food to come out. There were 7 people working, it wasnāt a staffing issue
I ordered my usual anywhere which is sourdough bagel with bacon and scallion cream cheese. The bagel they forgot to toast, it was stale and hardly any sourdough flavor, almost had the blah wheat taste. The cream cheese was excessive and gloopy, it was far too thin and splooged everywhere. Like they just tried whipping some green onions into cream cheese and didnāt let it set. One measly piece of bacon for $2. Overall this was flavorless and messy disappointment.
My husband had a bacon egg and cheese on everything bagel. The bagel was very salty.
We also got a blueberry bagel with butter. The butter didnāt even melt, it was so poorly toasted. The bagel had little flecks that I guess resembled blueberries, but definitely seemed like they took a plain dough and as an afterthought tossed some blueberry crumbs into it.
I do not recommend this place at all. Bagel Cafe and Bagel Street in Pleasanton are such...
