The real downside to this place is that they are only opened Thursday, Friday, & Saturday. Who wouldn't mind to get a brisket sandwich on just about any other day?! It was AMAZING! Let me start from the beginning, shall I... The parking lot was a little tight, but we were able to find a spot quickly. It was a first time going, so finding out just where to go was a little confusing. We had to enter from the pit area, & were greeted by friendly staff to assist us in the right direction. The atmosphere outside was cozy, as well as when we entered, having seating flexibility of the indoors as well as outdoors. Space is a little limited for eating indoors, but there is quite a bit of space outside. We had to wait a bit in line to finally order, but it wasn't that long of a wait time. We started our order with the sides & dessert, getting the beans, rice, cole slaw, potato salad, & banana pudding, then headed to select what we came there for, the MEATS! I ordered the sliced beef sandwich, totally forgot to ask what cut of meat I wanted, but it was PERFECT! They have 3 types of sauces they offer: sweet, original, & tangy, which I think they used tangy, but honestly, it went well with the sandwich. We also ordered a pound of brisket, a pound of sausage, & had to get drinks for the souvenir cups! I got the sweet tea, which wasn't a disappointment. It had the right amount of sugar, & was how sweet tea should taste like! The BEST part of this first experience, Veteran's Day! Yes, this establishment honors it's Veterans with 50% your WHOLE order!! They say thanks for our service, I say, thanks, & we appreciate you supporting the Military. It was also NICE to have employees be as friendly as they were, to tie in everything all together! Onto flavor & taste... Since it was Veteran's Day, it was a PERFECT time to do a taste comparison, on brisket, with the Original Black's BBQ. The Original Black's BBQ has always been the top BBQ joint in Lockhart, in MY opinion, UNTIL now. Little did I know, I was MISSING OUT! Terry Black's has surprisingly WON me over on their brisket! It has more flavor than their rival, & seems to just melt in your mouth with the right amount of fatty goodness. I didn't have to select a specific cut, it was just GOOD! The sausage was alright, something with a different texture, in MY opinion. The sides were good. The beans & rice had a nice flavor, as well, as the potato salad. The cole slaw was the BEST side, in MY opinion. It was just as AMAZING as the brisket, & if it wasn't homemade, they could have fooled me! "I have to say, arriving 30 minutes early before opening time and before heading back to Houston, we were warmly greeted by Chris with a big smile. He kindly directed us to the correct door for entry, making us feel welcome right from the start. Once inside, we were met with an impressive array of sides and meats, all beautifully presented and incredibly appetizing. We decided to try almost everything on the menu, and I must say, I wholeheartedly agree with all the positive comments I've heard about Terry Black's.

The burnt ends were nothing short of phenomenal, with a perfect balance of smokiness and tenderness that left us craving more. The brisket was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, and the mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, just like a homemade dish. The peach cobbler was the perfect sweet ending to our meal, with its warm, gooey filling and crisp topping.

James and Adrian were incredibly helpful throughout our visit, assisting us with our order and ensuring our drinks were always filled. Their friendly and attentive service added to the overall positive experience. The cool iced tea was just the cherry on top, refreshing and perfectly complementing the rich flavors of the meal.

As we indulged in the delicious food, we realized our eyes were bigger than our tummies. Chris kindly offered to wrap up our leftovers to go, ensuring we could enjoy the tasty treats later. His thoughtful gesture was much appreciated and added to the exceptional service we received.

Overall, our visit to Terry Black's was a delightful experience from start to finish. The warm hospitality, mouthwatering food, and excellent service made it a memorable stop on our trip. I will definitely be stopping by again on our next trip to the area, and I highly recommend Terry Black's to anyone looking for a fantastic dining...

Took my kids to Terry Blacks for the first time. We get the privilege to come through Lockhart often as it’s halfway between Austin and Seguin when we drop mom off at the airport we get to have a nice treat.

This is good barbecue. Let me say Louder for those in the back. THIS IS GOOD BBQ!

For those that complain it’s over cooked need to learn to order some of the fatty parts. Just cut the fat off it weighs nothing and that’s where you get juicy brisket. And for those that complained about price, well it’s in every BBQ restaurant

The kids got Mac n cheese and I got the Cole slaw. Pork ribs, brisket and turkey yes please. All were good. Nearly a pound of brisket and more than a half or turkey with a couple of pork bones just to cap it off.

My kids were salivating so I didn’t snap a photo before they got served. But I could have fed a few others as there were leftovers (kinda surprised honestly) I guess I wanted to save room later for ice cream

All that to say to was delicious

Honestly the food wasn’t my favorite thing. The customer service. My kids were staring at the pits when we walked in. Mike C was inviting them over to come take a look at the operation. My kids are interested in cooking as they get involved at home and we felt welcomed immediately to TB’s.

The food wasn’t delicious but the experience is what I’ll remember when I return to TB’s.

I have had side by side comparisons for other Lockhart bbq and can usually only understand the differences between them when compared one after the other. But as stand alone this definitely ranks up there with the best. Also not have to breathe in all the smoke as I wait to order my bbq is a plus. Thankful they are open later enough for a weekday dinner. Again shoutout to MC for his quality control and hospitality....
