Maison Lodi may be the new name on the sign, but I was a regular when it was Towne Corner. Back when it was Towne Corner, this spot was hands-down my favorite lunch go-to in town. I came weeklyâsometimes moreâfor one thing: the Reuben sandwich. It was perfectly grilled, loaded with tender corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, and melty Swiss, all on toasted rye. But what really sealed the deal? The fries. Their in-house cut French fries were the best in townâcrispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and just salty enough. Honestly, I still think about those fries. Now that the restaurant has transitioned into Maison Lodi, the vibe is a bit more elevated and the menu has changed, but there are still things to love. The new pastrami sandwich is solidârich, flavorful, and satisfyingâbut Iâd be lying if I said I didnât miss that classic Reuben. And more than anything, Iâm really hoping they bring back those fries. They were a staple and deserve a comeback. Maison Lodi does have a few bright spots that make it worth visiting. Their desserts are decent, and theyâve got a nice little snack case with treats and pastries that are perfect for grabbing on the go. The space itself still has that charming, casual vibe, and the staff has always been friendly and welcoming. All in all, while I miss a few things from the Towne Corner days, Iâm still rooting for Maison Lodi to hit its stride. Just⌠please bring those fries back....
Read moreFirst time here, food was great, but the gal who took our food was rude. I had told my husband that I wanted a breakfast sandwich and mimosa and went outside to get a table since it was busy. He came out and said that they were out of champagne and it was past breakfast hours so he had ordered wine and a different sandwich. Instead of the gal telling him, Iâm sorry but it is past breakfast hours, she just kept tapping the menu showing the hours in which I did not see. Took 35 minutes to get our food, but when the same gal who took our order brought it out, no drinks. We were told that we were supposed to pick them up ourselves, in which we were not informed. Had to tell her what we ordered and she brought them out. Brought the wrong side for my husbandâs plate, she took it back in but never brought out the correct side. We see her leave out the side door, My husband finally had to go back in after 10 minutes at least and say something. Was told that they were out of the side we ordered, so we had to reorder. We also saw another waiter bringing out a glass of wine to a customer but we were told that we were supposed to get our own. (?) Need better service and communication...
Read moreCozy little spot located on the Wine & Roses property next to the Lodi Wine and Visitor Center. Great place to meet early morning around 7 during the week as there are only a handful of people there at that time. I'm sure weekends are much busier. There is indoor, outdoor seating with plenty of shade. It's small so I would recommend a party of 4 to be able to accommodate sitting together. Book a room at Wine & Roses, check out the wine and visitor center, grab a coffee & snack then walk through the demonstration vineyard area for an up close look at different types of grapes. The park right next to it is also mellow. I would give TCC&M 5âď¸'s but, I have to confess the service was slower than one would expect. Still a great place in a great location as you head out towards...
