---- Introduction: ---- Towne House Restaurant (now Americana House, seriously, who comes up with these names?), located at Wine & Roses in Lodi, California, offers a high-end dining experience with an average interior atmosphere and top-notch service. Nestled within the beautiful grounds of Wine & Roses, this restaurant provides a unique and delightful culinary journey.

---- Atmosphere:---- Outside: The restaurant is located on the side of Wine & Roses, behind their café. The setting is picturesque, surrounded by trees and gardens, giving you the feel of being in wine country. You can see caged birds, including parrots, and enjoy a peaceful walk through the grounds. Inside: The interior was better when this restaurant was not under the management of a generic company and investor-owned. This mangament company came in and sucked the soul out of the place. The uniqueness has left the area.

*This restaurant has been sold to a different company, which came in and renamed it something very generic, 'Americana House'. * The interior atmosphere is no longer great; it's like the soul of this place has left.

Food Quality: Asparagus: Asparagus can be prepared in two ways: grilled or in a cold salad. Both versions are exceptional. Primary Burger: The burger is juicy and delicious, made from ground steak meat and cooked to medium-rare perfection. The aioli sauce used is one of a kind and enhances the burger's flavor. Pork Sandwich: The pork is tender and well-prepared, with a thin, perfectly seared slab. The bun is soft and moist, with a hint of olive oil that adds a refreshing flavor. Fries: The fries are crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, making them perfect. Steak: While not a steakhouse, the restaurant prepares its steak better than many steakhouses. It is highly recommended. Pasta and Lasagna: All pasta and sauces are made from scratch in the morning. The lasagna is amazing, with well-held-together layers and a blend of flavorful cheeses. Desserts: The desserts change seasonally but are always great. Every dessert tried has been perfect.

---- Service:---- The service at Towne House Restaurant is superb, with staff providing a 10 out of 10 experience. They are attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The quality of service is on par with that of very high-end restaurants.

---- Cleanliness: ---- The restaurant is well-kept and very clean. The floors, tables, chairs, and other furniture are meticulously maintained, contributing to a pleasant dining experience.

---- Service Dog Accommodation: ---- The restaurant is very accommodating and respectful regarding service animals. They ask the appropriate questions and ensure that seating arrangements are comfortable for guests with service animals.

---- Value for Money: ---- Towne House Restaurant offers exceptional food and service at reasonable prices. Unlike many high-end restaurants with high prices, this place provides high-quality food for a reasonable cost, making it an excellent value for the money.

---- Overall Experience: ---- I highly recommend Towne House Restaurant to anyone in the Lodi area. It is a hidden gem with outstanding food, service, and atmosphere. This restaurant deserves recognition, and it should be Michelin star-rated. If you are looking for a delightful dining experience, Towne House Restaurant is the...

I was absolutely floored with the unprofessional, uneducated and unwillingness to help the customers from their employees. I sat at the counter for about 7 to 10 minutes waiting for someone to help me. I finally yelled out and asked if someone was working the cash register. There were three people huddled up far away, and to the left of the register. one of the employees replied or someone will be right there to help me and they went back to talking to each other and looking at their phones. When they came up to the register being a first time customer I asked what they recommended, and they responded that "they don’t eat the food there"😳😬‼️ their reply was surprising, but I still wanted to try out the food and have a good experience with my friend so I looked over the menu again. I ordered my food and ask if I could have my coffee first and they looked annoyed that I even asked. The staffrst customer service skills and interactions I had ever experienced. I ended up getting my food before my coffee, and to my surprise it was placed on the counter earlier, but I was never told that it was ready. By the time I took a sip it was cold. I asked them to make me another one, and they asked me what the problem was and I told them that it was them and their attitude. They just stared at me, and probably rolled their imaginary eyes and in a very patronizing, arrogant and very supercilious voice and attitude asked someone else to make another coffee and then came back and that coffee order was messed up. This point I had enough and just took the coffee. I asked for a manager and they said that the manager wasn’t there and I asked when they would be and they said that the manager comes and goes as they please and don’t know when they’ll be back. every thing about this encounter and experience was absolutely dreadful. My food was cold by the time I sat down to drink a coffee I didn’t order. As I waited outside and had my lunch, I expected at least someone to come out and ask if I needed anything else. At this point my expectations of anything grand we’re just diluted to nothing. I left my food and walked inside and asked for a refill on my coffee. I ask if anyone usually goes outside and interact with their customers to see if there’s anything else that they may need and they said "they could come up to the counter if they need something”. I seriously thought I was being Punk’d. This was absolutely the worst experience at any restaurant I had ever been to. The employees didn’t care about providing great customer service, they didn’t care about how they represented the restaurant and they definitely didn’t care about the customer. In summary, I don’t believe any of those people including the manager even care about their job. The only person I didn’t speak to, but did not see any job was the chef or the cooks. The food was tasty and delightful. Besides that I probably won’t ever go back or recommend this...

I took my fiance here for a nice dinner and we found out they were in construction but still open to the public. Given that they are deep into construction and were letting people in and walk around, I'm sure that goes against health code and city permits. They sat us outside with the sun shining in our eyes the whole time, for such an expensive place they can't afford a drop down shade? The garden was somewhat nice, but we couldn't see any of it since the sun was shining over it so we had to face the other way. The server, Aileen, was great, a tall young woman who was very professional, she was very knowledgable and polite. We also met Ryan, who introduced himself as the Director of the restaurant, and he was great as well, telling us the story behind the beer I ordered and checking on us throughout the night. For both of them I give the service 5 stars! We did both notice that the Chef, who we later found out was Charlie Palmer, was not as great, he was very aggressive with the staff and they all seemed on edge with him around, making them noticably uncomfortable and stressed out. It's hard to want to support a guy like that, I'm sure the staff is miserable between him, being forced to work in a construction zone, and all sweating working outside and in longsleves and slacks no less! Our food took well over an hour to come out, and when it finally did, my steak was overcooked! I waited for so long and was so hungry I just decided to eat it. Clearly they are still doing work not only in the bar and dining room, but the kitchen too. They are supposed to be having the grand opening tomorrow, I just don't see it happening. When I told Aileen I was disappointed about my steak and more over, about the time it took, she immediately went to fix the problem, then the Director came back and was kind enough to get us a free dessert, which we declined having been there for far too long, so he ended up buying my beer, which was very much appreciated. Unfortunately, as we were leaving we saw not one, not two, but THREE cockroaches as we walked out. Not at all worth the cost, and seeing how the new ownership treats his staff and how disgusting all the bugs are and how cheap everything looks, just pass...

Imagine a failed fine-dining experience in the 90s before America found its own, delightful way to gastronomic greatness. The atmosphere at Towne House was neither formal (a busy table of Cab-soused patrons kept making that statement loud and clear) nor casual, but floated in the uncomfortable limbo of "trying too hard." I must admit, when I got in, a welcoming piano bar raised my expectations. Perhaps I should have stopped there, ordered a Pinot from a local winery and chatted with the bartender who wore a magnificent U-shaped mustache and squinted smiling eyes that would convince any reasonable human being to become his best friend without further ado. I was not reasonable, however, and blindly walked my way into the dining room. Tidy, with an efficient layout, some warming touches of walnut wood and clean white tablecloths - a consultant might have helped - but lacking the soul and stories that fill a space with its true essence. I didn't find the soul and stories in the food either. The grilled oysters I was served never saw the spark of a flame. They tasted like naked boiled mollusques drown in green briny oil (felt like pesto met garlic butter but the date quickly turned sour.) The "Honest acres greens" were anything but honest. The whitish watery vinaigrette was a culinary scam, and the rescue team is still looking for the rare snow peas buried underneath the sad little red leaf hill. The chicken came with a flat ball of wet spinach, onion noodles, and squash still deciding whether it was broiled or boiled. Thankfully there was pepper and salt on the table - like in the 90s! I skipped dessert. Do you remember now that failed fine-dining experience from the 90s? These restaurants were expensive but felt cheap. Note: the staff was super friendly and professional.

I have been enjoying this hidden gem in Lodi for over 12 years and it has been our regular Sunday brunch place. Most recently with the pandemic, this restaurant is the perfect place for safe, superb dining, and socially distanced seating. They have many tables that are spaced to comply with CDC guidelines. Staff strictly adheres to the rules and sanitation procedures. This Labor Day weekend, with temperatures over 100 and smoky poor air quality, we were so thankful for the staff's arrangement for a lovely birthday luncheon seated at two separate tables in the redwood grove area. The teak tables/chairs surrounded by beautiful redwood trees provided a healthy, refreshing, cool, and the perfect spot for our families while social distancing. There was plenty of room for a stroller for our infant. Staff was so accommodating by providing hot water in a bowl to warm up the infant's meal. As always, Wine & Roses' Towne Restaurant's fine cuisine was enjoyed by all. The kid's menu included popular and delicious selections including fruit and drinks; it was so good that my granddaughter couldn't stop eating her meal for a photo with her family. The complimentary birthday champagne and the candle on the dessert were the perfect touches to a birthday celebration. All of the staff were very attentive and non-intrusive. Water glasses were regularly refilled. We all had such a fabulous time. It was definitely worth the almost two-hour drive from San Francisco plus a bonus trip to the Lodi wineries. Please see the photos (including a few from a prior visit) for the amazing brunch and gorgeous scenic setting. Congratulations to the Chef, Restaurant Manager Tricia Maley, and Staff for consistently providing an exceptional dining experience for everyone of all ages.
