The person at the front was very nice, but when I said I wanted baklava and pointed to the big triangle in the case(only plain baklava in the case), he basically asked me if I wanted every single other thing he had other than what I said, starting with a small package filled with multiple things that wasn’t even in the case. It kept going on. I must of said “no, no chocolate baklava” at least 5 times. I just wanted the plain ol big triangle and kept saying that. I saw the other options, I didn’t want them so I didn’t ask for them. I wasn’t sure why he kept offering different stuff/pressing me. I got my gyro and it was good. A little salty and the chicken honestly was very dry. I was surprised. The baklava was very disappointing. It actually was not crispy. It was chewy like it was stale/old and it tasted slightly burnt like the syrup was over cooked before being poured on. Or maybe it sat too long on something hot? I noticed the bottom few layers were super dark in color compared to the rest of it. They seemed nice and it’s why I’m giving 4 stars. Along with other peoples rave reviews. I’ll probably be back to try again at some point and hopefully I’ll have a different experience. I’m hoping this was a one off. And maybe I’m just spoiled. Vanilla in hilliard has amazing baklava and it’s cheaper. And there’s a few gyro places I like around cbus that never miss. Idk. I’ll try this place again since it’s local and I’d prefer to support local, but if it’s same experience I’ll be making the extra drive to...
Read moreI highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is daring enough or not to try this place out. Always if you want to feel like you are eating light and healthy and getting full at the same time this place is the place to be (Not Subway). It is quiet, clean, and the service is top notch. The owner of the restaurant or maybe manager is kind, funny and easy to talk to. It feels like you are dinning in his kitchen though you are dining with your family or alone. The place feels homie though it really is not.
With that being said I highly recommend that you try any of the meals that have lamb in it. Sure it can be a little pricey certain kinds of lamb you get but it is so worth it and this is coming from a person who thought would never try lamb in this life because yuck that isn’t normal food to me. But now I am a full blown lamb fanatic. It is juicy, tender, and monalicious (yeah it may not be a word but forget about it tastes darn good that the point. If you don’t like or dare to try lamb they have other foods like they feel like cheesesteak that is cheesy, good, big, and juicy to try.
As for the desserts I have only tried three and I didn’t care for at least two that I tasted but macaroons, I recommend. Side note if you are a cheesecake lover then you may like their cheesecake.
The food is amazing no matter what you get. At least everything I have tried all three times I have been there.
So go ahead and...
Read moreThis Greek restaurant offers a decent dining experience with a few standout qualities, though it doesn’t quite rise above any other Greek restaurant. The entrees, particularly the shawarma and gyro plates served over rice, were flavorful and satisfying. The meat was well-seasoned and cooked to the right tenderness, complementing the rice nicely. While the entrees were enjoyable, they weren’t extraordinary or unique enough to leave a lasting impression.
The biggest disappointment was the baklava. As a quintessential Greek dessert, I had high expectations, but it fell short. It was excessively dry, lacked the rich, buttery layers and sweetness you’d expect, and had almost no discernible flavor. Unfortunately, it felt more like an afterthought than a dessert carefully crafted to match the quality of the main dishes.
On a positive note, the service was fantastic. The staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient, making the overall experience more pleasant. This is definitely the kind of place where takeout shines, as the dine-in space is very small and lacks the ambiance you’d expect for a sit-down meal.
While it’s worth visiting for a quick and casual meal or to grab food on the go, this spot may need to step up a bit in the dessert department and create a more inviting dine-in atmosphere to truly compete with the best Greek restaurants...
