Sacred Grounds, our favorite cafe in Lone Oak, consistently impresses us with its delicious food and warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is not only sweet and respectful but also makes every guest feel like part of their extended family. During our recent visit, we had the pleasure of trying their new chicken breast sandwich, and it exceeded our expectations. The chicken was perfectly cooked, moist, and paired beautifully with fresh vegetables, creating a delightful medley of flavors. Additionally, the fries complemented the meal perfectly, being both crispy and delicious, elevating the overall dining experience. Each visit to Sacred Ground reaffirms our affection for this establishment, as it combines exceptional culinary offerings with a genuine sense of hospitality. If you have not yet experienced the charm and flavors of Sacred Grounds, you owe it to yourself to visit and savor their remarkable dishes.

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus, who lives in the hearts of the staff, would definitely eat here! They also must have angels assisting in the kitchen. I received the warmest welcome from Cooper after entering. Felt like a loving uncle welcoming you home. I ordered a cold brew coffee, black, as always, and a BLT breakfast sandwich. The coffee was dark and chocolatey...deliciousness! The sandwich came on toasted wheat bread, which stayed in tact even with the ripe tomatoes and over medium egg. The bacon was crispy and salty (like me), but I love salt. So if you find yourself driving through Lone Oak, don't blink 'cuz you'll miss it. Stop on in and get your heart touched and your stomach filled.

What a refreshing change from the ubiquitous green and white coffee machine.

On a solo road trip today, I was fading and spotted this gem in the historic part of Lone Oak.

Jackpot!

At the sidewalk under the awning, the entrainment of the "welcome" was palpable before I even stepped foot in the door. Upon entering I was met with the broadest smiles. I think they truly were glad to see me even though I had never been there before.

Not only did I sip the most aromatic blend while enjoying a cup of conversation, but the brick-lined walls, shelves of interesting "things", painted furniture and locals having quiet conversations, was an all-encompassing time-traveling journey. Certainly this genuine welcome, coupled with the historical ambiance must have been what small town life was like decades past.

This was the best experientially complete cup of coffee I have had in a long time. I left alert and smiling swaddled in the satisfaction that there are good people to be found in the most interesting places. And a great...

Waited about 20 minutes for our food - we ordered the sausage croissant sandwich and the waffle plate. I eventually received the waffle plate. After about five more minutes we were told they were out of sausage. When I asked about the wait time, we were told it takes about 15 minutes to prepare the food since they make it fresh. Figuring it would have been an additional 15 minutes to make something else in lieu of the sausage croissant sandwich, we decided to get a refund and try somewhere else.

Disappointing factors for us: We watched as other people who ordered after us received their cooked food before us. That confused us a little.

We also would have appreciated being told when ordering that the kitchen was out of sausage. Or at least as soon as possible.

Finally, when asking about how much longer the order would take, the girl behind the counter was rather indignant with me, as if I was in the wrong to ask about...
