Denny's — Restaurant in Long Beach

We ended up at Dennys last night because it was my son’s birthday and that was what he picked and this is the state of Dennys. Based on the very few people at the restaurant I am going to say they are in a horrible situation and most likely are going to have to close locations or change their business model because I’m sure the cost of food and labor is really hurting them. Now let’s get to the food. My wife got the fried fish plate and it was actually really good and the tartar sauce really made it. My son got the fire burger and some new sweet churro balls with icing filled with maple syrup and it was delicious (not blood sugar friendly) but really good. We ordered the chicken strips and season fries to share and the chicken was so over cooked it was almost burnt tasting and not really that good ( I could of complained but with how slow they are and can’t fry something that simple I didn’t want to have them try again) I ended up with a side salad and a double cheeseburger. The salad was good,cold and fresh. The dressing use to be better seems like they water it down now. The double cheeseburger was delicious. They really made a great burger this might be a future for them if they keep at it and make some tweaks in advertising to try and drive business. Would I go back again. Idk burger was good but it was also $19 yes I said it $19 for a burger so probably no time soon, unless it’s the middle of the night and...

Okay normally Denny's across the board gets a minimal of 3 stars. I like their menu offerings and have found their preparation to be consistent, counting on the food to be of the same high quality and cooked to presentation that darn near mirrored the images in the pages of the menu. Unfortunately this visit failed to live up to any of those expectations. The service was slow, our orders came out one at a time and in my case half the order was cold. I can handle cold pancakes but cold eggs and hashbrowns. I'd prefer to do without. Coffee refills are standard fare at this hour in all Denny's but getting the attention of anyone to refill the empty cups at our table was a lost battle. Now I'm an optimist and know that one poor performing waiter/waitress having a bad isn't indicative of the overall quality of a restaurant, I would return to this location and give them the benefit of the doubt and until proven different I'll assume that everything will be...

Sometimes late at night, I get the craving for some coffee and a stalk of pancake or a late dinner. Regardless of what I am craving for, I can always find it here. But wait, let me tell you about this place, as this is not a regular Danny's.

The food is amazing. But wait, the staff here are beyond friendly. No joke! These people here take their job and costumerservice very seriously. Ive been coming here for many years now, and even though I live a bit far and there's other dannys along the way I still find myself driving all the way here, where they make you feel welcome as if youre family. They will greet you with a smile, and the place is super clean.
