Villalobos Kitchen — Restaurant in Long Beach

So, i was looking for pozole near me for the next morning of my wife’s, lady’s night out (trying to do something good for her) and stumbled on this place. I went in not expecting much just hoping they had good pozole 🤞. The gentleman that greeted me, was very kind and from my understandings was a co owner with his brother. As I waited he brought me salsa and chips and we had a quick but great convo, literally could see how passionate he was about cooking in that short period of time, so I ordered steak and eggs on top of the pozole. I’ve been to some pretty fancy Mexican joints with way higher prices and they couldn’t hold a candle to this place. What makes this place top tier IMO isn’t just great food and seriously how fast it was cooked (10mins tops)but it’s the experience . If it’s in the kitchen they’ll cook it for you is what I was told, and I truly believe it. The food was delicious and flavorful, service was one of the quickest and the atmosphere was very clean.All I could say is these brothers deserve your business and I will be back sooner more...

I came across their restaurant’s google suggestion and I was curious about it because of the reviews. Let me tell youuuu!! THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT 🥹 Everything that we ordered were so good, and YES we will come back! I was skeptical at first but when we came in, ALL the staff were so welcoming! I took a video of the food but I took a screenshot bc it won’t let me add a video. But omg 🤤 I can’t wait to try more next time! Me & my partner devoured our food!!! My sister, bro-in-law, & my grandma aren’t big meal eater so they couldn’t finish & we had to carry it out LOL YUP ITS A BIG OLE MEALLLL 🤭 I was honestly surprised I finished it, and I couldn’t breathe for being so full LMAOOO BUT YESSS TRY IT YOU GUYS!!! It’s so good and plus the staffs are so nice!

Our total came out to be $120+ and we tipped them off $50 bc they were hella nice & the food was great! Well...

I’m African American, and I had been driving past this place for months. It has great reviews, so I decided to try it today.

The owners are super friendly and accommodating, and the place is clean and cozy. I like the atmosphere here!

I got chips & salsa, and the salsa was flavorful without being spicy, which is how my tummy likes it. I know they have spicier salsas available for people who can take the heat. :-)

I had a grilled steak with rice and beans, and everything was really tasty. They have a cabbage and kale salad that is so yummy (with homemade Ranch dressing) — I was super happy to have some healthy fresh veggies that tasted great.

Also, they let me know that the beans and rice are organic and not cooked with lard, which makes me love this restaurant even more.
