This restaurant is fabulous! The atmosphere is lovely and it is spotless, even the bathroom. The food is remarkable. I was there with a childhood friend and we both agreed that on a scale from 1 to 10 this restaurant rates an 11! We has the polenta appetizer with the bolognaise sauce; slight delicious crunch to the polenta and the sauce was outstanding. We shared the gnocchi with chopped shrimp in a scampi-like sauce and the chicken Ancona; both outstanding. The portion size was perfect. For desert, the tiramisu was the best I've ever eaten. I recently visited Ancona Italian Restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it was a wonderful experience! I had the Cavatelli Juliane — a delicious dish with shrimp, diced asparagus, grape tomatoes, spinach, all perfectly tossed in a flavorful scampi sauce. Every bite was fresh and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a casual dinner or special occasion. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the evening even more enjoyable. We were looking for a last minute place for dinner, for just the two of us, and we saw that this gorgeous Italian restaurant got almost all 5-star reviews online. So I called, and spoke with Val, and asked if he could accommodate us, somewhat last minute, on a busy Friday night. And he was happy to do so. The food, service, ambience, reasonable prices, and especially their homemade tiramisu, were all out of this world, spectacular and absolutely delicious! This restaurant also happens to be a BYOB, which is great if you want to bring your own bottle(s) of wine to accompany your meal.
